While it's a surprising thing to omit currently, you can pretty easily compensate with a case that has magnets. The Dbrand cases for the S25 Ultra have strong Qi2 compatible magnets.
Yeah, case works well but I don't use it for charging, only for a magnetic phone stand in my car. I much prefer cable charging!

I use a magnet case on my S24U at the moment but I would prefer it to be built into the phone

When I ran a magsafe case on my pixel it broke wireless charging on normal/non-magsafe chargers, for example pixel stand and the built in wireless charger on my Girlfriend's VW Tiguan.

Look at S26’s Edge’s design. Seems mighty familiar. Also the camera island, though the phone overall is even slimmer, is apparently substantially thicker which I cannot imagine will help with case designs.

As far the Pro and Ultra they share the same smaller camera island, the only difference is the Ultra has two cameras stuck outside the island next to it.

The s26 Ultra looks terrible. It has lost its unique identity as Ultra not just bigger.

The edge camera block design that looks a lot like Pixel is the best design. Why not use the edge camera block on the Ultra and add extra sensors? It would look better and eliminate the wobble.

I don’t know but Samsung seems to be going in the wrong direction.

It is all subjective but Pixel 10 Pro is looking at lot better?

It seems Samsung is having allegedly issues with the Ultra’s camera setup.

The Pro and Edge reportedly will have the same charging speeds.

Wow, that's really inexcusable about the camera downgrades on the S26U if true. I am interested in possibly trading in my Fold 7 towards the S26U if it impresses me.

This corner cutting stinks. Really hope more Chinese brands start supporting band 71 as that's really the only factor preventing me from buying them at this point.

I have a couple of the S25 ultra phones and if the 3x is downgraded to a smaller 10 megapixel (which the s25 ultraalready has), that's okay with me, because I don't use it anyway. I prefer my 200 megapixel and 50 megapixel 5X. I have used the 3X telephoto a few times but that just reminds me of my 16 pro Max, telephoto which is 12 megapixels and its image quality is somewhat underwhelming .i'm tired of using 12 megapixels. It's an old and outdated format. No room to crop any photos with 12 megapixels. Because you don't have the room to do so. I'll probably get the S26 anyway, because it's supposed to have a upgraded up 200 megapixel sensor made by Sony to do better in low light. I mostly use the 200 megapixel and 5X 50 megapixel cameras a majority of the time, every now and then I'll shoot with ultra wide & hardly ever shoot with the 3X. Also Expert raw is my main choice. I suppose if the 3X camera is the only camera affected, then it won't really bother me.

I’m guessing the S26 Edge has the same design as the Air, because like the Air all the electronics are placed into it.

Some confusing leaks. Unless as he says at the end that the camera hump looks bigger not because they’ve upgrade the cameras but they’ve made the Ultra thinner. Sounds like Samsung might being far too cautious with its upgrades.

I discovered this on my Z Fold 7 the other day. The 5x zoom that originates from the 200mp main lend is fantastic.

I feel like Ice either loves or hates Samsung and Apple and that he never likes them at the same time.
Because he holds them to an unbelievable high standard. But I understand the criticism he expresses about abandoning the Edge after one year, regardless of the low-sales... Samsung should keep it around and push the technology forward.

And his reasoning behind it doesn't make sense... Samsung introduces the first slim phone, not Apple. And when they get word that Apple slim phone is not selling as expected, Samsung plans to drop their model. If this is the case, yeah... Samsung should get called out for it.

But part of me think... it's more about their lineup, not necessarily about Apple. Reason why Apple can get away with releasing a slim phone... because they have two Pro models (smaller and larger). While Samsung technically have "one" with the Ultra model. Bringing back the Plus model won't make much of a difference, when they already sell the FE model.

I think Samsung misunderstood consumers are not excited about slim phones when carry a premium price tag, especially when there are compromises to it. It's only going to grab a certain amount of users anyway, not sure why they thought it's going to be some kind of hit.

For sure. And the funny thing is, the thinness of the Z Fold 7 is such a huge selling point and upgrade compared to previous models, in my opinion. But it makes sense for a Foldable, where were the slab phone, I just don't really get it.
