So in the past couple weeks, the S26 rumors have restarted.

Exnos 2600 2nm chip uses new cooper cooling solution:

Qi2 accessories and a 60W power adapter leak:

Ultra only gets a camera upgrade to the 3x:

No camera upgrades for non-Ultra phones:

OneUI 8.5 is in beta and looks like Liquid Glass:

Looks like the desk wobble is going to get worse for the Ultra:

And the s-pen gets a little curvier to match the new corners:

With that said, I will be paying close attention to the release because it will give some indication on what might come to the Z Fold 8. Sometimes I really do miss some of that awesome camera hardware on the Ultra, but I'm loving the fold life too much to really consider making a change back.

It’s more so on the software kind of things… because whatever Samsung show off in terms of software features for the S26 event will come to the Z Fold 8. From a hardware standpoint… we know that UFS 4.1 will be added and maybe 45 watt charging since it will come with a bigger battery.

What really would be interesting if Samsung added bluetooth functionality back to the S-Pen on the S26U… supposedly there was some technical reason for the removal, but the marketing spin were nobody hardly used it. If that makes a return then I’m confident some S-Pen support will come for the Z Fold 8.

The display they demoed at CES did not have a digitizer layer. Doesn't mean it couldn't happen, but it is not something they are currently showcasing.

"There are apparently no other alterations to the layers that make up the display"

Back when the rumors were swirling about S-Pen support for the Fold 7… there were discussion about a much beefier S-Pen, that contained a battery and technology that will allow stylus support without the digitizer layer.

Leaker by the name of PandaFlashPro had someone on the inside that provided this information… but supposedly Samsung had issues with the on-board software for the Fold 7, there were chatter about uncertainty if the S-Pen would be supported. However, PandaFlashPro stated that the issue was resolved and it will be supported after all… but based on the fact that there is no S-Pen for the Fold 7 it was not sorted out.

So, my hope is come time the Fold 8 arrives… Samsung has figured out the whole stylus support without a digitizer layer (similar to how iPad does it without their Apple Pencil).

Samsung are badly lagging behind many Chinese manufacturers hardware wise in my view. And the fact that a friend of mine recently got an S22 and has the exact same camera hardware as the S26 shows that Samsung are now even lazier, cheap whatever you want to call it than even Apple for upgrading their hardware.

Non ultra models need to be avoided

Except the S26 ultra main camera will now operate at f/1.4 instead of f/1.8 & the 5x will have f/2.9 instead of f/3.4. Much faster optics, well 1/2 stop faster.

Still very minor. Sensor size still unchanged from all accounts. They seem to be changing the processing but that's all software related.

According to this video it seems Samsung feels it’s more important to keep the price the same than compete on hardware changes.

Yeah the video i posted earlier in the week shows some great camera improvements. The leakers all said the camera blur of the past is gone because the post processing algorithm will be done after the image is taken and on the device.
The CPU and GPU benchmarked higher than the the top smartphones as well. But that doesn't always tell the whole story as we all know.
