Samsung S26 Ultra/S26/S26 Plus

Set it once & it stays until you turn it off. In lower light areas your ISO will increase to compensate for the fixed shutter speed so be mindful of lighting conditions so you can turn it off as needed. The setting is found in the camera assistant app. Screenshot attached

So, been away with work and just got home and upgraded my S26 to the latest one Ui beta 5 release.

Not sure if it's related but I noticed my battery health dropped from 100% to 96%. Now I'm not normally one to worry myself with battery degradation posts as I know it can't stay 100% forever but it just seemed strange and I'm wondering if the beta software is doing something to the battery health reporting? The phone only has 75 charge cycles.

Anyone with any insight care to share?

Could be simply re-indexing or re- learning your usage patterns over a few days, so not optimal 🙂

Do we Galaxy s26 Ultra users have to use a third party app to check battery health & cycle count on the phone?

I did an internet search and the places I saw where to check in settings on YouTube weren't present on my S26 Ultra phones. My list of battery data in a couple different places had fewer options than the poster showed on YouTube.

I checked settings & Members app on the S26 Ultra & only 3-4 options were present compared to the 5-6 options on YouTube. Not sure if there is a hidden developer option that has to be opened, but my current software & UI doesn't show any of that.

How weird. My S26 ultras don't show that at all. Here is what I see on One UI 8.5

Are you guys looking in a different area of settings than i am?

Yeah the software must differ. Im in Texas, USA. Two aS26 ultra phones were purchased unlocked, the other is AT&T. All show the same battery info as seen on my screenshot. So I'm not sure either. Strange indeed

Wow! OK I wasn't expecting that but it explains why I don't see the information on the battery that I want to see. Thanks for sharing this information to help me and others that may have the same curiosity.

It would be better if it wasn't there tbh. The amount of posts people over on the iPhone forum about battery health and charge cycles is exhausting.

You are right about that. No one should really care anyway unless they keep the phone for several years & need to know when to have the battery replaced. Most of us get a new phone every year but panic when their battery health drops to 98%. It is exhausting and entertaining at the same time to watch. Mostly exhausting as you mentioned. I usually buy a new phone each year just for the camera improvements. Everything else on the Samsung or iPhone works the same.

I just received the latest security update on my S26 Ultra phones. I now want One UI 9 & i hope it adds features I'll use & like. Maybe get some Expert Raw improvements along with general camera improvements. Not that the cameras are bad, but improvements are welcome.

From what I've read One UI 9 should be released in the coming days.
