But that's bullcrap. It wasn't shown until after the iPhone and it wasn't even working well once it was shown.

does not change the fact that the leak was before the iPhone. The leak kind of had that set up and design. The only reason it was shown a month after the iPhone was because the trade show is held during that month.

But do not let those little facts and logic get in your way of trying to bash.

I don't even know why they want the source code? I thought this was about "likeliness" of product designs and interfaces. Implementation details shouldn't help there. Or maybe I'm not following this case well enough.

No, Apple are the ones suing over design details, Samsung wants to sue over actual technology and now needs to examine the product to see whether it infringes or not.
This isn't much different from when Samsung was ordered to give Apple some of their products for examination.

No one copied anyone over anything. All-In-Ones have been around for years and years in some shape, form, or fashion. The only difference now is they're being crammed in behind an LCD instead of stuffed in alongside a bulky CRTs. Since there are only so many ways you can design one, they're all gonna look similar by necessity.

And those ultrabooks copying the Airs? How? PC manufacturers were making small, thin computers long before the Air showed up. Just because Apple managed to jump ahead and make one thinner than the rest doesn't automatically give them the exclusive right to thin from here on out. If Asus were to come out with a computer that's 1.5mm thin, would you bitch about Apple copying Asus when they eventually come out with a similar model in the Air series?

And just like the all-in-one PCs, they're all gonna look similar since there are only so many ways you can design a laptop. Specially a small one.

Admittedly, yeah. It does. That tapered design does seem to take more than a few nods towards the air. But..eh...it's more rounded in the back. I dunno. Hell if I care.

Also, it has a higher resolution screen.

The air wasnt the thinnest when first released, and if im not mistaken its still not the thinnest.

As for tapered design, its really the only way to go if you want to make your device look and feel slimmer. after all, certain components require a certain minimum height.

Yeah, there was a Mitsubishi notebook that was thinner and was released years before the MacBook Air (in the 90s if I recall).

It's a Samsung store which Samsung corporate opened. I don't care what size the shop is, but it is ran by Samsung corporate. Just because it is a mini-store does not mean that it is not ran by Samsung.

Technically, its a Euronics store. Euronics has nothing to do with Samsung, just like Samsung has nothing to do with a backdrop to their backdrop.

Cheers!

Perhaps the mini store is run by Samsung, but the store where the icones are is not run by Samsung.

Samsung just sucks. Their products are garbages, copies...

How do you like the components they make for Apple?

This love story has a bad ending. It could have been the start of a beautiful relationship. What the hell happened?

----------

Apple should stop using any parts that are manufactured by Samsung. PERIOD.

The Samsung product is ****, right?

Apple. Stop using any technology or license that is made by Samsung.

You guys are true innovators.

Make your own graphics card, CPU.

Do not use the crappy Intel CPU, or AMD or Nvidia chips.

While at it, make all components in all the product you sell with the pristine, best of the breed Apple designed.

That way, you can charge the customers 10x more..

I open up the MacBook Pro....

Honestly, what is it in the macbook Pro that is Apple designed?

Design.. Yup. I give you that..

Anything else?

WIFI, ethernet? CPU? graphics card? memory? ssd? controllers? thunderbolt?? Display Panel?

Err. Yup. They designed Unibody...

Then Apple will have nothing.

Really ? When did this happen ? Do you have an actual link to prove this assertion ? A link to the patent from the USPTO or other public organisation would suffice.

Can you even patent a box design? If you can, HTC also "violates" that "patent".

come on Apple is getting caught now on its stupid law suits.
http://fosspatents.blogspot.com/2011/11/apple-loses-ipad-design-lawsuit-against.html

They are now being sued for damages, lost profit and even got an anti trust suit thrown their way in Spain. NK has a case for the damages and lost profits.

But that's bullcrap. It wasn't shown until after the iPhone and it wasn't even working well once it was shown.

It solidifies the point that the move to capacitive touchscreens was an obvious result of the technology becoming available and is clearly not an Apple innovation, and not something they deserve solitary ownership of. That phone was not built in a month, and it doesn't matter if it was working "well" for the point that yes, other companies were doing the same thing as Apple at the same time. Because yes, it was obvious.

Well, it seems that it was only crap and desperation from Samsung

Contract with operators:
Apple Inc. must provide Samsung Electronics Co. with its contracts with Australian mobile-phone carriers as the South Korean company demanded in a patent dispute with the iPhone maker, a judge ruled.

Source code:
In the Australian suit, Samsung also sought the source code for the iPhone 4S firmware to support its case that Apple infringes its patents for wireless transmissions. Apple has turned over 220 pages of documents relating to the source code, Fox said.

Samsung said the source-code disclosure wasn’t enough because a file was missing. The company sought an order for Apple to produce the documents.

“Someone out there is attempting to obfuscate,” Samsung’s lawyer Cynthia Cochrane told the judge.

Bennett deferred judgment on Samsung’s request for the additional source-code material and said she would deal with it on Nov. 11, if the two sides can’t reach an agreement in the meantime.
