Samsung sells more phones, but not more flagship phones. Samsung only sells more phones because they sell phones for as little as under $100. If all they had was expensive phones like Apple, their market share would be crap. The original comment that Apple sold more iPhones this morning than Samsung will sell Galaxys all year isn’t far off the mark of you are talking about S22 level galaxy phones.

Exactly.

Samsung sells a lot of phones... no doubt. But it's their cheaper A-series that make up the bulk of their sales.

Their volume is in the more budget models... not flagships.

Then there's this:

"While Samsung is carried to fame by its Galaxy S brand as a whole, the line has seen better days. Ever since the Galaxy S10, Samsung’s S Series flagship phone sales have been declining to the point where the company has reportedly been said to be considering an internal audit."

 
Why does Samsung want to bring so much attention to Apple’s new products? Calling them out specifically by name is pretty lame. People always bring up Mac vs PC ads but Apple never called out another company by name.
 
I have not seen one person in every day life with a folding phone. Yet nearly everyone with iPhones….many people would rather have an iPhone 8 than a droid
Folding phones seem like a great idea on paper, but the technology is not there yet. The Flip doesn't give you more screen, but add mechanical points of failure. The Fold is way too heavy for a phone and too small for a tablet. If the efficiency improves enough that you can deliver a fold under 250 grammes, and still have adequate battery life, without losing features, then we can talk.

Also, it's an advertising ploy to ridicule the leader in a product category. The goal is to engage Apple in a street fight, lowering Apple to Samsung's level. It's a cheap, grimy scheme. When Apple did the "PC guy" ads, at least they were clever and light-hearted.

Everyone knows that foldable technology is interesting. But, simply folding your phone in half isn't interesting. If Apple creates a foldable device, I'm betting it will be more meaningful.

I've actually heard some amazing comments regarding the Samsung camera, but it would have to be unimaginably good to make me switch from Apple products.

They all try to 'tailor' their adverts to make the most digs on their competitors.

Great—profit.

Did we turn you off from the Galaxy brand and you decided to stick with an iPhone?

Great—slightly less profit, but profit nonetheless.

Samsung is netting revenue either way—Galaxy users appreciate the jabs at Apple. And if it convinced a disgruntled iPhone user to buy a Galaxy device, kudos to their ad agency. It clearly works.
 
If you like Android great but Samsung seriously have some issues....all they ever do is talk about Apple.
Don't ever talk about your competition....that is marketing 101. They are like a petulant child.
If you enjoy Android devices, go for it.
Actually, this may work. Apple's marketing is really "out there", so it's not like giving them that extra oomph would make a difference. And in circles where majority are iPhone users, they're the perfect audience for such ads.

As for talking about your competition, Apple does this too, even if they are more subtle about it...
"At Google, you are the product"
"Our competitors are still trying to catch up with our last generation processors"

Two years in with my Z Flip and it would be really hard to go back to a regular phone of any sort, let alone an iPhone. Oh and it has USB C.

I would take an iPhone 5 with iOS 6, but nothing since that. It is just a very unfriendly OS now.

It is an amusing market really. Apple used to do this with I'm a Mac and such campaigns, when they were the clear underdog in the market, but they haven't needed to in a long time, and I suspect never will again. Plus there was that nice window of time when I could run Windows on my MacBook Pro anyway, so it was kind of an odd point to push. I do miss those days.
 
oof and their recent "never getting a samsung" ad was actually really good. This one is awful.
 
How many of those pixels are actually useful and/or usable Samsung? Personally, I still think (for a smartphone) that anything over 16 is just marketing selling large numbers to people. I would FAR rather see better quality sensors, larger area of sensor, improved optics, etc. But even all that plus computational tricks still can't overcome the simple physics that photons have randomness and capturing them on a small sensor, however subdivided, is still a compromise.

But Apple don't specify a specific brand within their marketing campaigns as far as I remember. They simply refer to them as competitors and they very rarely do that anymore. Samsung tend to target Apple all the time and constantly use the Apple name in the headline which is embarrassing to say the least.
It's like Apple release a product and the very next day, the Samsung marketing team get together and say....right what can we say about the release yesterday and make sure we use Apple in each of our ads.
