Like the Galaxy S+ back in June 2010? Iphone 6+ wasn't until September 2014

Samsung released the first WatchPhone back in 1999 called the SPH-WP10

Samsung also released a WatchPhone in France during 2009, called the S9110

Bet lets not let facts get in the way eh?!

The Galaxy S PLUS wasn't a bigger version of the S was it? Funny how Samsung start using the + symbol after Apple used it.

If you thing the Apple Watch is simply a phone watch, then you're just a troll! lol. But we already knew that.

Anyway, the only reason Android fans harp and harp and harp on how Android had whatever first, is because they know that Android/Samsung wholesale copied the iPhone after it was released. Its an inferiority complex.

Gotta love the Apple fans. Being intimidated by new Android devices. Stating false narratives about Samsung when they probably haven't owned one since 2013. As long as it makes them feel better about their inferior hardware that cost up to $200 more than better, stronger phones. But some people believe the Earth is flat. ‍

Did not Apple copy a lot from Samsung, Nokia and other smartphones when they released first iPhone? Touch screen, OS, RAM, CPU, GSM wireless, WiFi, camera, accelerometer etc. These are all the features that Apple copied for their design.

Oh, and you will even be able to make phone calls from within windows using your samsung phone "sometime later this year" - lol.

Uhh .. Google Voice has been able to do this for a LONG time at this point, IIRC, well before Apple.

Keep in mind, I have been an iPhone user for years but lets not throw stones when you just don't understand what's available.

iOS bug fixes are not immediate. They can take a few weeks to be issued once Apple become aware of the issue.
Rarely, if ever, major flaws go unpatched for more than a few days. Yeah, minor bugs are rolled into more regular updates.

That is not true. Samsung has monthly security update. The iPhone does NOT have that. If there are critical security fixes Samsung like Apple will release a hot fix.

The security on Samsung is indeed top notch and is independent of Android release cycles.
Samsung cannot update Android before google does. Am I wrong?

Of course not, however a bug in their own framework can be patched without Google's help.
Samsung typically releases the monthly security updates a week or two after Google gives them the code.

Still waiting for Google to implement independent security updates through Google Play services.

Android Pie was released to the OEMs in August, which means that’s when google let them start adapting and testing it. The only phones that got them massively earlier were the Pixel line and other ASOP devices.

The release cycle has always been February and March for Samsung phones. Just as it’s always been September for iPhones. Again: both the iPhone and the Samsung phones get their major releases once a year. I’m not sure what seems to be the problem for some people

I’m also talking about regular security and bug fixes, not just the normal yearly updates. Like, iOS got an update just last week, does Samsung do this as well? I’ve seen a ton of people complaining that they have to wait and wait for them, then I get people such as yourself going “no problem here”.

Dunno...

Samsung do monthly security updates and sometimes add additional features and bug fixes in those.

Security updates come out monthly, OS Updates come out yearly, and application updates come out when the devs update.

Even the point that Samsung used the + before Apple you can't accept and want to bicker over something so trivial!

If that is what makes you happy and content, then you believe that. Don't let the facts get in your way :D

You're right, everything Android fans try to point out is trivial. I'm sure it won't be long till Samsung has a Samsung Card.

Well of course, Apple Pay was followed by Samsung Pay, Apple Watch followed by Galaxy Watch, 3 different iPhone models introduced by Apple was followed by 3 Samsung Galaxy S models and the list goes on... what ever Apple does Samsung will try to copy.

Samsung had a smart watch before the Apple Watch.

First off Samsung=/=Android or Android fans..many if not most of the hardcore Android folks don't buy Samsung because they're a PITA to take control of and they go their own way with a lot of stuff.

Apple Pay followed Google wallet by three years so in a sense they both copied, modified, and improved mobile pay.

Moto had the first modern smart watch..again they both copied, modified, and improved smart watches.

This is how tech works, the popularization of the smart phone happened 12 years ago and look where we are now. It wasn't one company that brought up to this point it was capitalism. There are now widgets at every price point, and for every preference and they happen to be faster than portable computers of just a few years ago and the "best" ones are priced like the computers they are.

Pick your poison and enjoy your tech.

Apple Pay was copied from Google Wallet.

I'm talking about Apple and Samsung, not Google. Samsung had no intentions to bring out any form of payment, before Apple Pay happened, and then they just copied it, simple as that. Samsung credit card will follow just wait and see

Google Wallet was on Samsung phones..

So Samsung had the tech through Google found a weakness in Apple Pay then bought a company added it's tech to the basics of Google Wallet and voila new product that they can market against Apple Pay.

Now an argument could and probably should be made that they wouldn't have spent the resources required to make that happen had Apple not not spent to resources to normalize mobile payments but is silly to say that Samsung Pay only exists because of Apple Pay when they had payment they could have renamed in the first place.

Another samsung bloatware special. Now with more bloat.
What bloatware. It has Google services on, which I use. Office, which I use. Tell me why Apple don't get accused of bloatware, when they preinstall mail, garageband, iMessage, imovie etc. Oh, is it because Apple are immune? Just a boring argument that keeps coming up. My S10+ runs PERFECT. Just pre-ordered the Note 10+ 5G which will run PERFECT...even with the "bloatware"

From a stupid marketing campaign? The only people that would hold a grudge against a company for making fun of Apple are die hard Apple fans. That's a small market.

Most people don't read MacRumors or are phone enthusiasts.

Do you think people don't drink Pepsi because Pepsi makes fun of Coke? Most people aren't as easily influenced as you may be by a companies marketing division.
You underestimate most people. Being non enthusiast, they are more price conscious than you are. Sure they don’t care about the marketing. But an item as expensive as a phone is sure to be compared down to a small but obvious feature. They will notice the lack of jack and instantly move on. Because a Bluetooth headset is a luxury for them.

I accuse Apple of bloatware al the time.
