You are incorrect on the timing. Samsung released the S5 in February of 2014 but only announced their Plus in October a full month after Apple announced the 6+. I guess there were too many conflicting rumors on the name Apple would use.

No true. Their are security issues that plague non current versions or require full updates that only come when google, the carriers and Samsung choose to update devices more than two years old.

Erm, Galaxy S+ in 2010?

they diss apple for removing the headphones jack and now they did, fools
Samsung is even copying being foolish; how Apple went dissing large screen to making large phones and dissing stylus (Yuck) to producing Apple pencil.

Android Pie was released to the OEMs in August, which means that’s when google let them start adapting and testing it. The only phones that got them massively earlier were the Pixel line and other ASOP devices.

The release cycle has always been February and March for Samsung phones. Just as it’s always been September for iPhones. Again: both the iPhone and the Samsung phones get their major releases once a year. I’m not sure what seems to be the problem for some people

It looks really nice, I’ve been using iPhones for ten years but this is getting tempting.

Great looking device, makes the iPhone look ancient.
The shape reminds me of the old iPod Nano.

So what are you saying? Samsung shouldn't pay their marketers? They shouldn't advertise against the competition at all? Seems like if a company is struggling to sell, they should spend money to advertise. Look at Apple- they spends tons of money on advertising.

Samsung still sells a **** ton of phones. Some companies struggle sometimes. Look at Apple, their phone revenue is down quite a bit recently. Should they stop marketing lol?
My point was that keeping the headphone jack and marketing against Apple losing it didn't stop Samsung's mobile division from dropping. I was just a stating a fact.

Same... almost switched two years ago to Note as my daily driver but then held off.. I'm very tempted to switch this year knowing very well Apple isn't doing much at all this year. Could use this new device for a year and then see what Apple does by then.

I really like the Note, but I like the Apple ecosystem (Macs, iPads, etc). Plus, the Apple app store is better - less junk.

Doesnt matter. Because there was also a Galaxy Plus back in 2011. So Apple copied. But based on Apple fans usual argument, they didnt copy...they just waited to make it better and not half baked. How you can make the word "plus" better and not half baked I will leave to Apple fans to explain. Ot perhaps it's the other excuse...Apple was planning to use the word "plus" to name their iPhones years before the 6+ was released.

Wow....that's one amazing phone.
While we, iphone users, are getting dark mode - still no haptic feedback in the keyboard - they have all that from the video.
It's no wonder people are changing over by the thousands.
Iphone is years behind Samsung.
Apple is not inventing any more. They're a giant copy cat...and now with a credit card.

Isn’t it still the case that more people upgrade from android to iOS than the other way around?

Certainly that was the case in March 2018 which is the latest information I can find.

The more I look at the new Note 10 the more I think Apples iPhones look like their from the 90’s......
It beats Apple on ever single point bar the OS, and the storage you get!! 256GB, Apple? A measly 64GB.. yet ones making massive profits from its phones hmm.....
And this year will be more of the same it seems, even with the same thick border in the XR..

If it weren’t that I personally refuse to own a phone running BigBrother OS, I would probably have dropped iPhone by now. It’s too bad that Apple just can’t make new phones that catch my interests enough to get me to buy. I’ve owned 4 iPhones since my first, the 3G. I will see what that got this year and if it is enough to convince me to upgrade my Red 7s, which has been my favorite. Maybe if the cut the price on the next X model (not interested in Xr). I am also one those that didn’t like how they ditched the TouchID, so if they were to bring that back, that would bring interest.

I noticed that the sensors on the back of their watch looks a lot like, dare I say identical, to the back of Apple Watch.

And?... Apple did not invent them, or patent them, it buys them from a supplier, the same one as others use I’d imagine, it’s like accusing other phones of copying Apple because they have the same Sony camera sensors.
