Same old tired comments from people that have likely not owned or used a Samsung device (nor would they) for years.

I mean - complaining about software updates? I've had more issues with my iPhone updates and/or features not being available because of the model than I have with my Samsung.

That being said - Samsung and Apple both need to take a long hard look at the marketplace and realize people are keeping their phones longer now because fewer people are willing to shell out 1K for a new phone. Ridiculous. ''

Meh. No headphone jack and second rate screen in the Note 10 for $949 is a no go for me. QHD+ and all the cameras and I might be down. But I still use the headphone jack so much. Very pleased with my S10.

What kind of stupid people would prefer a smartphone with no audio jack ? (And do not forget the fools that they pretend this is a feature). I understand that often compromises need to be made but this is way too much (if not unnecessary).

Wow! I want one :)

But there is no justification for me - buying a $1000 PHONE. I did not have a problem dishing out $2500 for a productivity laptop but $1000 for a phone that I will use for messaging, movies and checking emails - that's too much :(

No headphone jack :(

The Note is and has always been a phablet that many people mocked when it was released. Who needs more than 3.5 inches, right?

What does that have to do with having two different models that are almost the same size?
[doublepost=1565220414][/doublepost]
I am no Samsung defender but the Note doesn't exist in a vacuum - it's intentionally large. the S10 with rather similar specs comes in 5.8, 6.1 and 6.4... there is almost too much choice.

Then why have two models of the Note that are almost the same size?

Samsung made an advert dissing apple for removing the headphone jack on there phones and now they announce the new note phone and guess what they removed it, Samsung are so dumb haha

Apple did the same thing with the iphone 5 saying how much making the phone taller was a better idea/common sense than actually making it bigger

Tim is so cheap he won't even give people a dongle any more. Samsung give you the usb-c headphones.

You do understand that the Samsung does NOT give a dongle, right?

Samsung includes a USB-C headphones like how Apple includes a Lightning headphones. Apple did include a dongle for the 1st year at least.

I wasn't gonna get it, but they gave me like 600 tradein on my note 9 and like 200 in other credits, im like might as well. Although there is nothing wrong with my note 9. They sure know how to tempt people in throwing away their money, dang!

Except that lightning is proprietary whereas usb-c is standard. You can get usb-c to audio from anyone not just Samsung.

Apple stopped including the dongle when Tim realised people keep losing them and he can charge 2000% markup with no competition.

Neat stuff. I myself like how they’re diving more into using your phone as a desktop. Headphone jack gone sucks though. I have a Note 9 and it’s been fantastic, and I’m gonna stick with it for a long while, battery is still really good on it.

fanboys of both companies are bickering like children... Windows Phone is the king. lol.
I’m in the middle as I use a Samsung phone and an iPad daily, but that’s something I’ve never used. Kinda want to get one off of eBay just to experience it.

headphone jack news, I'm sure this thread will be very considerate and peaceful :p
As long as Samsung is appropriately criticized for the removal of headphone jack. Which includes conspiring to profit off your need for a dongle and having a clear agenda to sell Note 10 users the Galaxy Buds. Any attempts to rationalize this or to say that it is "now appropriate" to drop because of the ubiquity of bluetooth or that there are cheap BT headsets - should be cut off at the knees. Because the headphone jack is about choice and the inconsequential cost of including it. Excluding it is just for greed and profit and is just plain evil. No other reason. Just make the phone fractionally larger to accommodate and sell it as extra battery life.

But, yea - fat chance.

Samsung uses usb-c not a proprietary connector. Get your dongle from anyone you want.

No headphone jack no 120hz refresh’s 1080p or 1440p depending on the size. No sd card. 1k starting price tag. Single camera on the normal model. This phone got the xr treatment with a high price tag. Last year 1k was too much for a phone. No headphone jack meant the death penalty. Resolution had to be at 4k and 120hz or nothing. Now it’s ok? That brand loyalty.

Apple does 4.7, 5.5, 5.8, 6.1 and 6.5 Lol.

This phone has nice specs, but I have absolutely zero interest in getting it. Apple just does too good of a job for me to even consider switching.

the problem without your in-depth analysis is that you are comparing every iPhone made in the past 6 years without regard for the lineup.

There’s a pretty significant different between a 5.8” iPhone XS and a 6.1” iPhone XR aside from the screen size
[doublepost=1565224953][/doublepost]
They removed the headphone jack and even used a + to name the larger size model. Is there anything Apple can do that they won’t shamefully copy?

the profits.

Yeah because the dongle money is a large part of Apple’s net income.

^ sarcasm in case you didn’t catch it

At this point, they should just remove the entire front camera. Either bring back the bezels or go all out.

Why the sarcasm? Dongle income is almost pure profit for Apple. Their best selling accessory is the headphone jack dongle.

The chip makes no difference at all in real world performance. The Note 9 beat the XS Max in Ram management.
Not according to many of the tests I have seen. Remember, many of android flagships have more than triple the RAM that Apple uses in iPhones. More RAM is not always better.

Your ears, they go from here to here. These wireless headphones goes in ear to ear. Now that’s either: a) An amazing coincidence or b) a dazzling display of common sense. Pretty sure it’s the common sense thing.

The long delays to software updates is a legitimate issue. Samsung is well known to take months. For OS vulnerabilities/bug patching it is a genuine concern.

Agreed, smart phone prices are far too inflated.
