“Android flagships are a tiny...” Not going to even answer anymore after this clueless post.

Not clueless - fact. People think just because the only phones commonly talked about are Samsung or Huawei flagships that they somehow represent all Android devices.

The reality is Android is mainly sub $100 disposable phones sold in developing markets. Or those blisters packed ones you can get at 7-11 for $49.

Even Samsung, the most profitable and best selling Android vendor, sells 3-4 cheap $100 phones for every single Galaxy S or Note. That’s why their ASP is consistently so low, about 1/3 that of Apple.

At this point, the infinitesimal incremental improvements YoY from ANY OEM are not capturing my interest. There are so many other things more important in life than giving into the overhyped announcements and media coverage, all vying for your money. The high end market is nearing saturation, so the only way OEMs can continue to keep the industrial complex alive is to keep pumping out new products and trying to convince you that life is not worth living without their latest bling.

No headphone jack?? Really Samsung? Not getting it. The S10 5G seems nice, but no SD card slot. What’s this trend with companies these days...give something and take away another thing. Back to the non-5G S10s then.

What's wrong with that? If they made money in the few years they "dissed" Apple, good on them!
And to add to that, how is it any different than Apple's views on NFC - aka 'It is of no use until we do it'. More generally speaking, people need to not take the words of marketers as anything more than the spin that they are.

Wow. Looks like a amazing device. Rip iPhone, hello note.

Let’s be honest. Headphone jack on mobile does not make sense in 2019.

Im sorry, but removing the jack after all of their bashing..I can’t think that samsung don’t plan their strategy 3-4 years ahead..so you know that you will do the same and still bashing?!
And their excises are even bigger
1) more battery
2) more space for haptic engine
I mean WOW even their replies/strategy is just an Apple copy cat
And samsung..OP7 has 90hz and rog 2 120hz super amoled and your best display smartphone comes still with 60hz??
Sorry but your latest note isn’t the best UI display anymore

Aren’t countries like the US about 48% Android or the in the UK it’s 51% android. So I wouldn’t say android is relegated to developing countries. Android is quite prevalent in Europe.

People here are still obsessed over the headphone jack. Galaxy got Live Video Focus and 3D Scanner. If Apple doesn’t “copy” these features in this year iPhones that’s a shame.

And the DeX feature is the future. Microsoft invented it few years ago. In the future a phone will be a single device for most users. There will be no need for a desktop computer at home. You could just plug your phone in a display and a keyboard.

Dongles are bad, mkay. Let’s ask what the popular opinion is on the Macbook Pro excluding usb-a. As you say, you can get your c to a dongles from anyone you want. Does that make it all ok? No, it doesn't, right?

For a "Pro" device no it's not ideal, though USB-C to USB-A is the easiest non-proprietary dongle to get. The bigger crime is the ~$200 extra you'd have to spend to make sure you could connect to VGA/HDMI projectors.

Did you used the latest Dex? its just a larger display that runs android apps...is not an good exp, i tried to used for a week but not an good linux experience at all....Samsung in partnership with Microsoft could make the dex running windows 10 arm based and that would be a bright future, with running win apps also android apps

Damn, I was thinking how are they going to redesign the Note, and they make it look like one stunning sexy piece of kit! Looks incredibly modern, although I’d imagine if you drop it theirs no protection from the screen cracking.
Shame it’s Samsung and Android, but good grief it’s a stunning piece of hardware. If they prove that 6.3” version to around 800 pounds in the UK it’ll be... hello iPhone XR...

What does that have to do with having two different models that are almost the same size?
[doublepost=1565220414][/doublepost]

Then why have two models of the Note that are almost the same size?
There are people who just want the largest phone with the best hardware. It's a way of differentiation to milk more money like XS and XS Max. The Note10 is 71.8 mm wide and Note10+ is 77.2 mm compared to 70.9 mm and 77.4 mm respectively for XS and XS Max. The Note is able to get higher screen to body ratio although I personally hate the curved edges.

It depends on your computing needs. For me it’s fine. If you can use a tablet or chromebook as your main computer then Dex should be a good fit. I have a MacBook but I don’t have a desktop at home.

But that’s just the start. The technology will evolve over time, that’s why I said about the future. At least they’re seeing it and moving in that direction.

How did they raise the price? There hasn’t been a Note with 5G.

But without dual-SIM I’ll pass anyway

Samsung website says that both models are Dual Sim; now will the carriers hobble it somehow!? MORE THAN LIKELY!!!

None of what you posted changes the fact that most Android phones sold are low-end models, not flagships.
I’m sure in Europe, America and Canada there are a significant amount of android flagships sold. Outside of Korea and China I’d imagine that most android flagships are sold in the US, Canada, Europe and Australia/New Zealand.
