The first phone maker who can make a decent camera that's actually FLUSH with the phone body again, will have my vote.
Ridiculous how you can't put an iPhone X on a flat surface without it wobbling and sliding around due to the silly protrusion!
Or do what Samsung does and make the phone thin and still have a flush camera without 'feet'. Just a thought. Now I am no physicist but I am pretty sure the distance between the lens and the sensor is important. So the only way to do that is to make the device thicker. Maybe not the whole thing. They could make feet in each corner that allows the device to sit flat; people would redirect their anger about the notch towards the feet.
This complaint, while valid, falls in the category of "I am cold, turn the heat up". They don't care if other people would be unhappy with that choice as they seem resistant to simply wearing a sweater. Physics isn't going to change to meet your design requirements, and they can't lower the camera quality and be competitive, so wrap the phone in a sweater and at least you will be somewhat happy.
My number one issue with the apple TV was the remote was terrible to hold. So I got a case and now my complaint is that that the disney channel breaks the TV app. I bet you would have similar results.
You obviously haven’t tried the new buds and headphones by Apple and Beats. Best sellers across the board and seamless integration. You can keep your headphone jack.Just for the headphone jack it's superior to the iPhone.

I think you can leave security and simplicity out of it since iOS11...In the end, I agree with you. Others tend disparage against iOS in terms of lack of customization or its boring, but iOS has always been about simplicity and security. It doesn’t have any clutter and it’s a clean platform. Hardware eventually wears off as it is, where software is more meaningful long-term, where I think iOS leads.
Not a great analogy(Even though you used a car, which I believe is a requirement for analogies on this siteMore valid comparison is like removing the car AC. True that the AC might not be used year round but it's nutz to remove it.
If Apple built a car they'd remove the AC and sell you a dongle in the form of a window mounted AC.

The S8/S9 are the best looking hardware we've seen in smartphones, and it's not really even close."Nobody makes better-looking phones than Samsung." Really? Was that meant as a joke?
Hello Walter.
Let’s see if revenue and profits for this model are a worthy rival. That’s where the rubber meets the road.

Mike! How’ve you been? I hope you’re not holding onto a grudge, I mean under the circumstances I had no choice.
I can never think of these phones as anything more than counterfeits that cost the same as the original. It is mystifying to me why anybody would buy one.
That is going to change.

What? Samsung’s camera sticks out. It’s just less noticeable in photos of the device because the entire phone is thicker.
S9: 8.4mm
X: 7.7mm
But then again the unwashed that buy these care little beyond how the phone looks which is its biggest draw.
Bigger battery + flush camera > smaller battery + camera bulge

My wife has the S8. In terms of hardware, it's certainly an admirable piece of tech. However, the fact that it runs a heavily skinned version of Android that, as clearly evidenced by Samsung's prior behavior, won't see updates for quite some time makes it a non-starter for me.
I didn't say it wasn't as think as an X. But it's still considered thin. Hence, Apple can do the same. What? Samsung’s camera sticks out. It’s just less noticeable in photos of the device because the entire phone is thicker.

Anyone that watched the Academy Awards would be SICK TO DEATH of seeing and hearing about that device! I was just sick at the push - push - push of commercial and shameless plug after shameless plug. Overkill...
