Why have round edges if you have bezels?

What good is a curved screen that distorts your content by warping on the sides?

Apple has done it the right way again while others just throw crap at the wall until something sticks.

All competitors that claim edge to edge design have a bezel on the bottom, Apple was the first to find an actual use for flexible screens by folding the bezel in.

Any competitor that claims higher Screen to Body ratio does it by making the making the phone more uncomfortable to hold or use.

In my opinion, iPhone X has the only edge to edge display on the market with no cheap tricks, and without the rounded sides, it would be uncomfortable to hold so I believe those are necessary.

Nobody makes better-looking phones than Samsung.

******** no one is happy with the fingerprint on the backside!
I'm not sure why they didn't originally start on the back. I love the ability to unlock with the fastest fingerprint sensors out there, scroll notifications by swyping up/down on my FPS. It works a million times better on the back than the front, especially being that it has more fictionally than apples offering.

iPhone's have better backsides. this samsung phone might have a better frontside.

ok, edited...i don't like the overly large rounded corners on the screen portion. but the even-ness of it all is good.

All jokes aside, pricing on those phones is where it needs to be. Apple can learn a thing or two from that. But of course, margins.

Really?

After about 9 months, you are pushed to the slow train in terms of software updates. You'll skip most of the monthly security patches, you'll get a major OS update maybe 10 months after it is released, and after approximately 2 years it's no more software updates for you.

All iOS users get the same software updates on day one as released. Devices are typically supported for 4-5 years with updates. And this helps protect the resale value of your device, should you wish to sell it on before buying a new one.

Samsung charges prices in the same ballpark as Apple but with almost none of the customer service or care.

And Samsung could learn a thing or two from Apple about supporting their devices. I’d rather pay a little more and get better support.

I think this is the real differentiator between Apple and all the Android OEM's. You can argue specs and design until you are blue in the face. But none of the Android OEM's come even close to offering the after sales support of Apple.

Try walking into a Samsung store (if they exist in the U.S.) getting your battery replaced for US$79 or for some models US$29.

And I say this as someone who has a Samsung Galaxy S9 on pre-order to replace my Samsung Galaxy S7. I really like Samsung's devices, but they have almost zero after-sales support for their products.

"So why change anything ?". When Apple does this they get called boring and stale.

Because people like to find anything they can hate on Apple for and the companuse success as a whole. Apple will always be a target for others to find things wrong with the company, but nobody can deny Apples success.

I ordered an S9+ a few days ago. I would have ofdered an iphone X if it had been a reasonable phone.

I don’t disagree with that, but I doubt the average consumer sees it that way.

I almost pulled the trigger when I saw the $100 off, then I remembered how buggy and painful the android software is, and Samsung is partially responsible for producing the amoled screen that produced the flicker which caused terrible eye strain and migraines on the X. So I figured let Apple have one more chance to get rid of the notch, fix their display, then move on if they’re too stubborn.

Galaxy S8 to S9 is like iPhone 6 to 6S to 7 to 8.

Samsung have peaked out the current generation of no-compromise design, unlike the notched iPhone X, so there won't be significant changes until the next generation with sensors and speakers in display.
