Compared to other Asian brands I think Samsung has done a good job creating a differentiating design language for their hardware. They haven’t been “copying” Apple for some years.
Agreed. Apple isn’t the answer for everyone. Samsung isn’t the answer for everyone. Choose what works for you and be happy. It’s all good. Thanks, we will both be happy![]()
Only to the superficial. Personally I find such things to be vacuous.Would you prefer a Lada over a Ferrari?
Or an ugly girl instead of a pretty one!
No, it's not, it matters.
security
I’m pleased with Apple. Two iPhones, two iPads, great service always and everything is there for our needs. Is the experience going to be the same for all? No, but for our family Apple checks all the boxes. Sorry about your experience. Hopefully whatever you choose in the future works for you.
How many of your friends talk about phone security
This is also why I believe we will never see a cheese grater Mac Pro being re-released. Apple never looks back, only forward.
So Apple isn't exactly lying, but you have to read between the lines and realise that your definition of what makes a "great" Mac is likely not going to be what Apple deems "great".
If you want to clear it up, you could mention that the iris scanner and facial recognition can be used together, and not at the expense of a 2nd biometric form of unlocking the phone (fingerprint).
Remember the get a Mac campaign? Apple had a patent of bashing out others. It only works if you’re having to show something that’s true though. Apple has nothing to bash the competition for, not because they don’t want, because they can’t.I think that at this point, Samsung should be looking over their shoulder and be more worried about upcoming competition from newcomers like Huawei, rather than constantly trying to bash Apple in the media.
They don’t need to anymore. They are way ahead.Compared to other Asian brands I think Samsung has done a good job creating a differentiating design language for their hardware. They haven’t been “copying” Apple for some years.
Celebrities get hacked because they use weak passwords, not because of a lack of security in icloud.
What percentage of Android apps have malware? Is it 40% still?
You also have to ask yourself what security you have when everything is in the Google universe.
You have to start by logging into gmail then that logs you in with everything else whether you want it to or not.
In their privacy rules they clearly state they have ownership of everything you put on their servers- images, contacts, emails, documents ( although they assure you that they would never use your data without your permission. ) But ownership?
Plus, I think you’ll find keychain password protection and the apple chips in all devices ( can’t remember the name) the ones which keep sensitive data and or parts of the OS kernel that not even they can get into. They arecavhuge plus. l
Android is pretty good these days but I think you’ll find that Android phones are still a long way behind in security.
Okay, since we are in sniping mode, let’s not forget that the galaxy was recently randomly sending photos to random contacts, without the owners permission.
Government application is an extreme use case. For everyone else Android security is great or else there would be zero banking apps or contact less payment applications on the platform. My friends are also my colleagues, and working in a government related sector for a career path, security_is_ crucial, so yes, we do discuss this (As it’s also mandated), because we have to rely on the type of information we are transmitting from our smart phones, which we only use the iPhone to protect our credentials/ and confidentiality disseminating sensitive materials due to the stringent security from iOS. Android doesn’t deliver here, nor would the agency I work for even consider android in that respect.
What does this mean then? No, I wasn't proven wrong. It is an added expense. Zenithal thought I was comparing the cost of glass replacement between the two and I wasn't. Nothing in my post noted such a comparison in cost.

iOS isn't bullet proof either. Vulnerabilities are discovered annually some of which Apple pay bounties for. Further more its not rare to read about hacked iCloud accounts. Not really. Bottom line is this, android is not secure as Apple is with iOS. Nor do they value the stringency that Apple has in terms of encryption standards. I’m not saying android isn’t secure, but I don’t want to have ant false modesty pretending like android is on the same level as Apple is either, which clearly others are aware they are not.
No, there's always a cost when repairing. To say added cost is invoking a comparison. Repairing the curved glass will cost more than some other devices, the implication being (due to the sentence structure) a device without a curved screen. This is just basic English. It's always going to be an added cost if you break something and need to get it repaired - So I can't see what you're getting at.

Some iPhone users here need to stop scaremongering about android security and get off the Apple ivory tower because iOS isn't 100% secure either.![]()
A classic instance of someone painting themselves into a corner. It is a fact that if you have to get the curved glass repaired, it is an extra cost on top of purchase. That is all I addressed. The same goes for iPhone. No need to argue with me over the obvious. Read what I say without inserting words that aren't there. It goes smoother that way.
If you want to have a dialogue with me, you can do so without the passive aggressive rhetoric aimed at me, because you disagree with what I said. If not, you can reply to others.
The main Samsung flaw is the Android OS.

The difference is that Apple cares to fix it... on the opposite on Google's business model, the more they record and store about you, the better...
I got Pie on my Huawei P20 Pro late January. In what way was I disadvantaged by not having it sooner? Why would porn slow it down and who watches that on their phone?
Everyone knows Samsung phones don’t get updated long term. You couldn’t even have Pie when it was released.
Who knows? I just know my Note 4 was basically trash after 6 months despite a device replacement and 3 batteries.
.
Your friend probably thinks something might be wrong with you Because you don't have to use Samsungs software plenty of great alternatives you can install.Late last year I made the decision to jump ship and leave years of Apple loyalty and purchased the S9.
I lasted 2 days before sending it back to Samsung and instead upgraded my iPhone 6S to the XS.
When friends asked what happened I told them this - the problem with Samsung is it’s software. I told them that it’s as if I’ve bought the latest Porsche, which to everyone looks great on the outside, but once I get into that car and I’m on my own, I look at the interior and I want to cry. It’s clunky, bloated and ugly.
The S9 (and now S10) are similar. Gorgeous on the outside but inside, boy oh boy (shudder)
Well that’s not the norm. Tell your bricked iPhone thatTell that to my iPhone's that have bricked on the new updates or totally lost functionality with native apps until a full restore.
