I would really like iphone to adopt the flat sides design of the ipad pro 2018! And maybe an ipad pro mini

I didn't say that. I never even implied that. Without evidence or data, it is anecdotal. Several people who post on this forum are often quick to observe that a person's post is anecdotal when the post does not suit any narrative they may have.
Right, so you are calling what the video maker said is anecdotal. In this context, it's either he lied or to you the information is irrelevant. It's the same difference and very relevant to this conversation as memory has to be thrown in an android hardware to beat the highly optimized ios.

That really can apply for any phone. Hell people on here have moaned about the same on their iPhone. It can happen on any device.

So that issue isn’t an android issue
Android is an issue. There is no constant moving through different manufacturers.

Samsung phones are certainly not "just as expensive".
In the UK, a Galaxy S10 costs £799. An iPhone Xs costs £999. A Galaxy S10+ costs £899. An iPhone Xs Max costs £1099.

Furthermore, people who pre-order these Galaxy phones get a free pair of Galaxy Buds costing £130. These Galaxy phones also include fast charging in the box. One does not need to pay an additional £69 for this feature.

Price could sway a lot of people one way or the other. Many people could say "I rather save the $ if I can get a similar experience" while others could say "if I spending top $, I should get the most premium product." Sadly, people will think more expensive = better. In reality, it could mean more expensive =/= better. That's where the market gets so split up into what feature you want:

Best Cameras - Pixel 3
Best Screens - Samsung Galaxy S/Note
Best Software Support - Apple
Most Cost Effective Flagship - OnePlus or Xiaomi
Best Quad Dac - LG
Best Payment System- Samsung
Best Customer Service - Apple
Best Use of a Large Screen- Samsung Galaxy Note Line
Best Security Apps- Blackberry

Notice how Apple and Samsung came up a lot in my "best of" list? That's because they offer the best combo of hardware and software to their customers. That's why people consider Samsung as "Android or Droid." Apple was once a smartphone pioneer. Now, the competition caught up to them and their hubris yielded lower than expected phone sales in many key areas. That caused Apple to lower prices, increase trade in values, offer more friendlier finance terms, and use aggressive marketing strategies.

Samsung and Apple better respect Huawei/Xiaomi/Oppo/BLU/OnePlus because those guys are here. Some might consider the Huawei Mate 20 Pro as the best phone on the market. The iOS luster is wearing off. Apple, right now at least, can get away with hubris because their most loyal supporters are willing to buy their products with very little differences between generations. Plus, they were the first trillion dollar firm. I mean, if I was Tim Cook, I wouldn't really need to change anything up because it's up to the individual to know when they're spending too much on a product. If you asked me to spend $1100 on a phone, I would've been unreceptive. Luckily, I took advantage of a carrier deal to get my XS Max at the fraction of the price.

Best payment system is samsung? seriously? Best display samsung? Really?

Software and hardware integration is a trap for me. I prefer open standards being able to communicate with other hardware. Security is debatable. Apple Pay still doesn’t work over here, Maps is half baked, siri is a joke, cloud services meh, and the list goes on.

Lol, I always see this when out of arguments :D
Apple doesnt sell your data... discussion is over, you just lost, bye

Best payment system is samsung? seriously? Best display samsung? Really?

Samsung uses MST tech to work on virtually any payment system. It works retroactively with older systems and they have a reward program too. Apple only works with systems that accept Apple Pay. Their NFC system is shackled, so you can't do anything beyond Apple Pay.

Samsung has the best displays on the market. You know that Apple contracted Samsung to make the iPhone X's OLEDs and other OLEDs for them? OnePlus, Google, and others have used Samsung's OLED displays too. DisplayMate gave repeated acclaim to Samsung for their display prowess. If you can't see that, then I don't know what to tell you.

Irrelevant. In the end Flash was replace by something better and more secure. So Apple's help was not needed at all.
The Headphone Jack(a hardware port) wasn't replaced by anything at all and in any way, it was just removed. The End.

If I go and buy a phone with a headphone jack I can still use any type of headphones I want. Or you would disagree?

I disagree.

The way I remember it, flash was still popular when Apple blocked it on their iOS devices. I remember being annoyed when I couldn’t demo a flash-based math game to my class on my iPad.

I even remember Samsung running an advertisement boasting about how their tablets could run flash while the iPad couldn’t.

To me, it all came down to conviction. It was precisely because flash was blocked on iOS that HTML5 got the break it needed. When you are faced with either having to code a website in both HTML5 for ios devices and flash for everything else, or just go all in on HTML5, common sense takes over, and people started to prioritise HTML5 over flash, because why not?

So Apple didn’t just end up betting on the right horse. It bet on a horse it wanted to win, then went out to ensure that said horse would win the race. Because the best way to predict the future is to create it yourself.

As for the removal of the headphone jack, I have said it countless times. It’s not so simple as arguing that you can still use wireless headphones on a smartphone with a headphone jack.

Instead, what Apple is doing here is placing a bet on how people will use their devices in the future. It’s the same reason why they went all-in on USB-C with their laptops. Apple sees a future where the headphone jack will lose value, because the way we interact with our mobile devices will change.

And what I believe is happening is that Apple envisions a future where wearables have taken over as our primary form of computing. Be it your smart watch or AR glasses or something else, you will not be using wired headphones with your Apple Watch or AR glasses. Everything will be connected wirelessly.

Likewise, this suggests that your phone will merely be a slab of glass that you fall back on when you need a little more screen estate than what’s on your wrist (the same way smartphones are displacing PCs are the main mode of computing for some people). When that time comes, wired headphones will no longer make sense.

Rather than wait for better alternatives to appear, why not navigate this change in the driver’s seat? Remove the headphone jack now and funnel users towards your own product (airpods), rather than to some other alternative that might appear down the road which you have no control over, or might not match your vision of the future of computing.

This is what I mean when I say that wires and headphone jacks have no place in this new world order that Apple envisions.

Actually, it is very debatable and tests do not show any earth-shattering difference that would matter.

Lol. Ok, you go debate that with the industry. Let us know how that goes. Maybe you can get some companies to try to contract w/ others, maybe like LG. The same company that had issues with the Pixel 2 XL display?

Wow, amazing. So you take a niche feature that has little to no use, especially when new terminals don't even have mag strip reader anymore and make it a big deal. What about bank and country support where with Apple Pay it is actually available for people to use? Stop joking.

I am sure plenty of banks and countries see Samsung Pay support. If not, it would've been along the lines of "LG Pay."

That's not useful enough for you? Ok. I am done here.

I see this is still a d*ck measuring contest over such small overall differences. It’s a preference, that’s it. What’s great is that both companies push the other to ultimately benefit the consumer. We should just be happy about what we have in tech today. Speed, screen, camera, pretty much anything hardware related are all so similar that it barely matters anymore.

After using IOS for 10 years it’s time to try new S10+. Main reason I’m switching to Samsung is how Apple becomes greedy when it comes to money and their devices. Apple trade in program is the ripoff from the start and I just couldn’t get over that. The way I see it Samsung S10+ beets Apple xs max in every spec for less money and they are giving $550.00 for iPhone 8 trade in (15 month old device) and $130.00 credit for accessories. Bite this Apple and here I come Samsung.

They sell more units than Apple so they must be doing something right while iphone sales have been on a steady decline. Wireless headphones are great, until they are dead and you now have no alternative.
Nice try. They sell mostly sub $290 phones, while Apple’s ASP was $760.

People don’t buy Samsung because of Android. They buy them because they’re cheap.

The Galaxy line is dwarfed by iPhone. Those large numbers are on phones you’ve never heard of from Samsung.

They don’t need to anymore. They are way ahead.
Come on, don’t be like that. Even if you think better of Samsung (or Apple) it’s just plain ignorant to say that one is way ahead of the other.
Help spread some positivity and good discussions in the MacRumors forum.
Let’s make internet great again!

A niche feature is supporting more payment terminals than any other phone/mobile payment system out there? I’m speechless lol.

What hasn't been innovative from apple lately? faceid? smart hdr? neural engine? airpods, homepods, aw with ekg? Nothing there innovative? Got it.
Faceid - ok, smarthdr - nope inferior to what google is doing, airpods - yes, homepods - seriously? Aw - yes
