Sat down with iphone in back pocket and CRACKED THE SCREEN!

I've had it on my pocket THOUSANDS of times, sat on it on the car, on the couch, on my bed. Never has it given me a problem.

Sorry to hear about your phone. :(

P.S: I do think it is the case's fault

Edit: I finished reading the whole thread, and everyone is acting like a freaking a$$hole's (Inikon amongst them). Doesn't matter! if the case wasn't on the phone, the phone wouldn't be shattered.

By the way, you are a 10, and a special one because of being a geek :p

I can't believe I forgot to mention on my earlier post that yes you are a beautiful girl and like you said a special one for your gadget geekieness. So all the douchebags that were talking smack can go back to your cyber girlfriends and Rosy Palms.
 
Personally I never use my beck pockets for anything... but hey.

One thing that no one seems to have mentioned (otherwise I'd just be repeating what everyone else has said) is that even if it was the case manufacturers fault and sitting on it is fine, I honestly can't see that they would cough up for a new iPhone.

I mean say it fell out your pocket and broke on the floor... personally I'd consider it bad luck as I'm sure that cases (I use a silicon one) help with minor knocks etc but are never going to make a phone bomb proof.

Just my 2p

The case made the screen crack but sitting on it didnt help any.
I'm pretty sure if you sat on your phone and there was no case on it, it would not have cracked.
 
I don't know what is so weird about putting your iPhone in your back pocket. I've done it many times- it fits perfectly in the back pocket of a pair of jeans.

I do try hard to remember to pull it out before I sit down though. :)

It is clearly the case tat caused the crack but like was posted earlier it's going to be hard to fight the fact that sitting on it was the impetus that kick-started the chain of events.

Sitting on it, with force, made the crack. The case 'didn't help any'.

I would sit with my laptop on my lab in a car... not sit on the damn thing. It's amazing to think people put their iPhones into their back pocket. Crazy.

HA! im the same way.. Its how I know if im ever missing something.. Im phone in front left, keys in front right, wallet in back right, receipts/gum/any other **** in back left.
 
I love the assumptions made in this thread, it displays the utmost ignorance on the internet.

The fact that people are actually upset over this cracks me up, it really does. People are actually frustrated by what was originally posted.

Everyone, don't get your panties in a bunch because she suggested the possibility of getting it replaced. I think Apple can handle it, they do not need the fanboy club to help.

My husband has an original iphone, he's had it for 1 year, he has had a leather case on it for some time now.

well, he had his phone in his back pocket and sat down in the car.. Now, with the way all guys wear their pants, its not like you are really KILLING the phone with pressure. His back pockets are low enough that they are not "bending" the phone with pressure. Just like if your phone was sitting on the couch and you sat on it.

Anyways, he sat down in his car and went to pull it out because he realized he sat on it and IT WAS CRACKED.

the most messed up thing about it was, i am PRETTY use the case did it! The crack is RIGHT where the case goes over the front near the ear piece..
and its not just CRACKED, its pretty shattered.

Think maybe i should call the case makers?

It's gotta be the case. Look, I'm a pretty big guy (think past college football player) and I weigh a decent amount and I've sat on my caseless iPhone a bunch of times, on hard surfaces and on soft surfaces. Nothing, not even a scratch.

By the way, you're an internet perv.

The case had nothing whatsoever to do with the crack. He sat on his bloody phone; his bodyweight, along with whatever kinetic energy he sat down with, cracked the screen.

I'd love the OP to call the case manufacturer though; she'd get a really polite response, I'm sure. :rolleyes:

secondly, you guys are complete morons.. i had NO IDEA this thread would turn into this.

The point is.. THE CASE paired with my husbands butt broke the phone.. HOWEVER without the case, the phone would not have broken.. So how can you say that the CASE isnt the ultimate reason for it breaking?!

If you dropped your phone on a pillow, but there was a rock sitting on the pillow and it landed on it.. would you say the DROP is what broke the phone? or the rock it landed on? Because dropping it would not have broken it, but the rock it hit did break it. Take the rock away.. no broken phone.. take the case no broken phone.

But seriously guys.. get a life.. i'm as much of a computer/gadget geek as many, but seriously.. i dont sit on here trying to specifically make people feel like *******s. I mean, WHY does this bother you so much? Why dont you go yell at the people who put their phone down on a table, see a hairline scratch and then bring it back to apple to be replaced>!

You can't blame the case because well you have no proof the case did it. Just like they have no proof the case didn't do it. It's like the theist/atheist debate. Neither side can truly prove their claim. It's just their belief.

Pressure causes things to burst and crack, and this time your husband was on the unfortunate side. And what did you expect it's the internet. Land of over-analytical snobs. But you have no proof it was the case itself that broke the phone. It was a freak accident. **** happens. Where you went wrong was posting online about it. People online are a bit weird and this post turned out how most do.

But how do you know for sure that the phone wouldn't have broken? You can't, unless you can duplicate the event down the the last minute detail, and that's impossible.

Sure, the phone probably wouldn't have cracked in exactly the same place, but it might have suffered damage of a different sort or in a different location. There's no way to know for certain.
