oh the woes of battery drianage on wireless backlit keys

nusance having to wake it up
yet again the woes of battery power drainage
good thing i have wired option if i wanted full on rgb lighting goodness

Finally, a wireless rechargeable keyboard with backlights and a number pad. Goodbye to Apple's magic keyboard and goodbye to my usb wired, backlit Logitech that was made for a PC,

I wish I could buy beautiful keyboards from all kinds of companies, but they always limit themselves to supplying a very basic qwerty layout; and I really want that left shift-key to be split into two, and a more vertical return-key:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QWERTY#Swedish

Typing on a regular qwerty-layout works just fine, and I know it by heart; but there's just something about programming that makes my brain really want that Swedish layout.
The KB diagram you linked shows the standard SHIFT and SHIFT LOCK keys of a qwerty KB>
I think it's the < and > arrow keys you're after, those are not shift keys in normal typing.

OK, I got excited and ordered the Aluminum Desktop Stand. I hope I won't regret it later.
I want the X3 Wireless too, but I'm not sure if it will work with my iMac Late 2013 and iMac Mid 2011 (Which I may do without). There's no information on what version of Bluetooth this keyboard support.

Also, I couldn't find any reviews, just generic press releases. It would have been nice if someone at MR could have review it and provide us his/her honest opinion.

This fixation on straight keyboards, which are bad for the wrists, continues to boggle my mind. At least Microsoft has some sense.
I find this format to be very ergonomic. I've been using all kinds of computer keyboards for the past 39 years and I find this format to be the most comfortable one. It also depends on how you sit and position your hands, angle your wrists, etc. I still have no signs of carpal tunnel syndrome or any other problems with my wrists.

Lifespan is important, too. I loved the Matias Tactile Pro keyboard, but went through 4 in six years (including one that may have been a counterfeit and was quickly replaced after purchase). Luckily, SquareTrade paid for the last one after it ffaaiild, then I switched over to WASD Keyboards with custom Mac keycaps. Expensive, but built to order, and built like tanks.

That said, the handful of Satechi devices that I've owned have actually worked really well, from external drive enclosures to a BT numeric keypad. Like others have said here, they are really coming up as a premiere Mac accessories company. I think I'd trust them more than Matias or anyone else making this specific type of keyboard.

I never understood the obsession with thinness on a desktop keyboard. I prefer something with keys that have travel and a good resistance feel. These days that is a keyboard with MX brown switches.

Hm, no battery life or Bluetooth specs on their website like they have for their older keyboards.

Does anyone make a thin wireless keyboard with no number pad that still has full size up and down arrow keys? I hate the half size arrow keys on my magic keyboard. The larger magic keyboard has full size arrow keys, but the number pad makes it too wide, pushing my mouse or Magic Trackpad too far out.

Is this also intended for/can it be used with a standard iMac instead of the $150 black Bluetooth keyboard?? Or is it only for iPad?
I was thinking of getting the Apple wireless one but this is much cheaper...any reason I should reconsider?

Finally a small magic keyboard (ish) in space grey. Given the emphasis on monitors, keyboards and mice for the new M1 devices, you'd think Apple would have been all over this with proprietary versions.
I’d jump on this if I wasn’t afraid of BT issues reported with the M1 MacMini. I’m using a Logitech MX Master Keyboard and dongle/receiver. But I’d like a smaller keyboard that would fit better on my under the desk keyboard/mouse shelf. I guess I’ll wait and see how well it works with the M1 MacMini as others report in.

They had a chance to undo the stupid full sized l/r keys on the arrow keys, yet they didn't? :(

Still, ordered. Looks like the magic keyboard with backlight so it's an instabuy for me.

Bought their iMac stand/hub back in the spring 2020 - a bit pricey but well made and looks great.
The iPad stand looks sharp although my iPads are currently in thick cases as the kids use them more for online learning. Doubt the stand can hold them.

Totally get you. They only make US English layout. I can only buy Apple keyboards because I need to use French Canada layout which allows me to write in both French and English without changing anything with the layout, whereas US English/English Canada prevents me from writing in French without forcing me to guess, remember where the keys are or having a virtual keyboard on screen.

Unavailable in the UK? :(
I've never really heard of them, but they're on Amazon UK here & comments there say they plan to bring out a UK Keyboard as opposed to just the US layout. They've got backlit already, just not the version mentioned here. As apple can't be arsed getting their finger out for a backlit magic, I guess one of these will do, next day delivery also.

No UK layout, just like their previous model = no sale.
(FYI they promise a lot, but never bother to deliver. Plans to release a UK version never happened!)
