Aren't wireless chargers also consuming some electricity even when they're not charging any device? I'm not sure if I'd leave that one plugged to my car all the time..
I do but with 80% limit so it won’t over charge and kill the better fast, still have 100% battery capacity still on my iPhone 15 pro max

We just purchased a 2024 Chevrolet Traverse LT that has both wireless CarPlay and wireless charging. As these features become standardized there will be less of a a market for something like this product, mainly for owners of older vehicles.
It all depends on where you want your phone to be visible. My car has a wireless charger but I don’t use it because I can’t easily see or control my device so I use a mount with a usbc cable.

Probably works well, but $60 is a bit steep, I'll bet the profit margin on these are insane. Choetech and the other Chinese companies already have clones of this design on Amazon for cheaper.

This is certainly true, but I see a lot of 5w wireless chargers in cars. This translates to a piping hot phone and a very slow charge, and hopefully you’ve got it capped at 80% so you don’t eat into your battery health with that heat.

heat is supposed to come out of the floor vents if you leave it on auto/follow the suggestions from the owners manual.
It can be nice to split it when it's super cold, so it's half floor and half dash vents to keep your hands warm. But yeah, back when I had a vent mount phone charger I directed the heat to the floor to keep my phone from overheating.

But, I finally bit the bullet and put in a dedicated carplay screen, so my vent struggles are over now :)

My experience with several 3rd party wireless chargers is that they will charge the phone for 1 hour and then shut off, then maybe turn on after 2 hours, and repeat until your phone is completely out of battery. I gave up on them!

Or put heat on the floor only or use the defrost and floor vent option. Heat rises. No need to blow it in your face and dry your eyes out while driving. Auto typically uses only those two options for heat anyway.

It sure is nice to be able to quickly warm your hands using the dash vents.

china is a big country. not everything is the same. I'm with GMShadow, I trust a brand I know versus one I havent heard of and probably won't again. Heck you can't even find choetech on amazon lol.
FWIW I buy countless aftermarket chargers and cables on Amazon, and have probably purchased both from the top 20-30 “brands” on Amazon. Choetech (whatever it is) makes by far my favorite most durable quality cables surpassing known and unknown brands alike. Their chargers are amazing too. I’m quite clear that it’s just some random brand, but it is not one of the bottom of the barrel ones; and I personally wish they had been more consistently available on Amazon or otherwise. I don’t think it’s fair to mock a brand just because you haven’t heard of it. Most people will not have heard of satechi. I’ve purchased satechi products. And returned them. They are simultaneously “heavy duty” while also being a little.. meh.. for the price (to me one their products felt sturdy but not premium). And I’ve spent $150+ per device on Belkin and MagSafe duo style chargers (Apple and non Apple) pretty regularly too, so there’s not a price concern here for me.

If you’re curious why so many chargers, I’m the person who buys this stuff for my entire extended family (20+ people) who are constantly cycling through devices and losing cables and such.

Is that Qi2?
For an iPhone that has MagSafe it’s not relevant…. Proper MagSafe charging is 15w and he just said that’s what that charger is. Qi2 is just bringing standardized 15w charging with magnetic ring alignment to non-iPhone users.

So, if you are an iPhone user, as long as your wireless charger provides true 15w whether it’s qi2 or not isn’t relevant to you.
