The size is the only reason I would consider the X, I hate the size of the plus in my pocket but I live with it because of the dual cameras. The price of the X and lack of home button keep me away.

I’m sorry, call me a ‘hater’ or whatever, but I don’t see how you can be satisfied with a product that isn’t even on sale yet. I think the thread should be called ‘satisfied with the iPhone X size’ or something similar. 🙄😛

Not only that, but look at how many people "settled" for the plus, just because it was considered to be the "best" iPhone (better cameras, better battery, etc...), even though it was literally the same people that in previous iterations had made fun of phablets and larger phones.

People flock to the "best" iPhone. It's status, even if it's not as much status as it used to be. I think it's hilarious, but love it because it's easy money. People just gotta have it or they feel incomplete, and outside of a very select few, it won't matter if the form factor isn't up to their expectations. It's the latest iPhone, and that's ALL that matters.

I genuinely believe Apple could coat it in rusty nails and people would still buy it. It would probably even sell out pre-orders. That goodwill won't last forever, but for a few cycles they could actually get away with it 😎

How many are a few cycles? Is 10 years worth good?

Probably. But you're talking to a guy that got a legitimate "LOL" back from tcook@apple.com (it was an assistant, of course, but still) when I sent him an email lamenting the fact that my Watch didn't arrive on launch day and that he was squandering the goodwill of early adopters. My final line: "You could sell iFlu (influenza in a white box), and it would sell out pre-orders, but by the time you tried iFlu 4 (influenza in a slightly smaller white box), it might still sell out, just not as FAST...".

Apple is squandering the good will it's built. It's a slow process, because they have so much of it, but it's happening. It's also REALLY hard to get back. If they botch the launch of the X (and people placing 12:01AM pre-orders for a product we already waited weeks just for the privilege of pre-ordering don't get launch day delivery dates), it will hurt it even more.

There will come a point in our lifetime (next 50 years or so) that Apple isn't the "cool" product that people line up to buy. You'd think they'd want to hold onto that as long as they could, because I have to believe they know it won't last forever.

Actually, I disagree. It's not the X being the latest phone that matters to me it's the size. I got the plus because of the cameras and what they come in handy for what I do not because it was the "latest" or "considered to be the best". But at the end of the day, the phone is not practical for me for everyday use. The X has everything the plus has in a smaller form...why wouldn't I get it? It's perfect FOR ME.

side note, I have never seen a case come out before an iPhone that ended up fitting perfectly.

Yeah, the iPhone 5S design is the only one that truly supports one handed use. The iPhone X will be even worse than the 7 though.
For ME, one handed use is the most overrated marketing gimmick that apple ever created. Honestly could not possibly care less about one handed use. I can use my 6s+ just fine for most things with one hand, but if hand #2 has to come in for a second, don't really care. Complete non issue and the last thing I consider when buying a phone.

Some dedicated Apple fans here. Basing your purchase on a case? Good luck to you fan boys.

I think that's going to be one the biggest factor for me, is the comfortability of holding it one-handed. I enjoy my iPhone Plus, but having the smaller form factor would be ideal for me. I look forward to having The 5.8 screen real estate in a smaller footprint.

Try an iPhone 5 if one handed is your criteria.

I have. My iPhone 6 case fit perfectly and I got it prior to the release. The companies I've looked into that are releasing X cases are very reputable companies so I doubt there will be any issues.

No that's not what I'm basing my purchase on. My purchase is being based on the SIZE of the phone. READ the post...you'll learn a lot.

I got my case yesterday and I am really looking forward to the smaller overall size and big screen. With higher resolution, OLED, and Face ID all in a more compact package, it will really be a nice upgrade over my 7 Plus. The size feels perfect.

Here is a regular iPhone in an X case. It fits perfectly with a case on as seen on the second picture.

That's what I thought when I first heard it mentioned in keynote, and don't like describing myself as a one handed user in that manner either because it does sound kind of pretentious. However for most of the way I do use my phone (while walking, in car either parked or at lights, responding to a brief text message, etc.) for quick instance things that require half attention, I really like the one handed use because it's those 10-30 seconds of use that make one handed use a blessing, instead of requiring pulling both hands up, or to stop walking to use both hands, etc. Just much better experience overall.

My 2 cents. I understand that's not going to be the case for everyone.

If you want a real-world example, go handle a Galaxy S8 at Best Buy, Verizon, etc.

Really. That's pretty darn close to what the iPhone X is like.

I think the most accurate example is the LG G6.

Almost exact same dimensions....

I've been recommending that for a couple of weeks now. It will give you the best example of what to expect from the iPhone X; the screens are the same size and the aspect ratio is similar.

look the dimensions for lg G6 its the best example.
