Vingle is just stupid. Just wait until Microsoft revolutionizes the industry with Sideos.

Also, Best of Aykroyd is REALLY funny.

pricing problem with snl

the best ofs are listed as being priced as $1.99 but when added to the cart they show up as $9.99 - which sounds more likely to be the real price. has anybody who doesn't have itunes set up with a shopping cart been able to download them for $1.99? (better check how much you were actuallly billed and take a screen shot of the listed price)

its not letting me buy any, it's saying that the item is being modified or something to that effect

pah. still no UK stuff.

maybe we will get about a year later like with the music store itself! but hey, look on the plus side, we will prob get it before the rest of the world!

just bought the vingle

Just bought the Vingle for $2.49, which is basically $1.99 for the video and $0.50 for the single. You get two separate files.

Apparently Vingle is just a way to bundle music videos with the single track for less than buying them separately ($1.99 + $0.99).

There's some discount there, but it would be far more elegant if the video file had the high-quality AAC audio and just enabled/disabled the video track based on the playback device (ie. allow me to sync music videos to my nano, just not play the video track), rather than having 2 separate files (playcounts, ratings, associated metadata, etc.) Isn't that what QuickTime (and MPEG-4) was designed for?

so if the $2.49 price is right for that vingle, isnt that the first hint of variable pricing for regular video content?

obviously, $9.99 for the collections is different..

Well it's 4AM and Apple leaked out the beginning of Vingle.Interesting..
However folks "Vingle is MORE than a video and single..

What exactly is a Vingle supposed to be? The MacRumors report indicates it is $2.49 so I'm assuming it's a package containing both the Video and the Song. Is this correct? I clicked on the Pussycat Dolls new Vingle link in iTMS and it just took me to a regular video for $1.99 however.

That's what I assumed too, the video and single such that you can transfer it to a non-video iPod to play the music too.

Free Monk

I am downloading the free Monk episode now. It does take you to the Monk page, when you click the link, but if you look carefully, one of the episodes is marked as free.

Have any of you tried purchasing the Vingle?
well, I did, and I got a message saying
"Purchase of this Item not currently available
This item is beeing modified. Please try again later."

meaning maybe that there will be more than just the video and the song?
we'll soon find out, I'm so excited!

So what's everyone's last-minute prediction?
A mac-mini DVR/Front Row box for the living room?
Movies in the iTunes store?

Anything else?

Aside from iBooks, iLife, Intel, etc.

Is the Children's Music section new? TheWiggles are promoted out front. I smell a HUGE video catalog.

Nope, it's been there a while, but I do think some of The Wiggles catalog was added pretty recently. Of course, you know you can get Wiggle and Laurie Berkner and other such great kids' stuff on Emusic.com - cheaper than iTMS and unprotected MP3 format?

Wiggles video content would be cool, but I'd need a way to burn them to DVD or something - I'm not letting my four year old sit around holding a video iPod!

"Here Comes the Big Red Car" was released today (the DVD was last week). Hence the current promotion. I agree, I wouldn't let my 2 or 4 year old watch the Wiggles on my vidPod, too much chance they'd drop it. ;)
