Scariest Movie You've Ever Seen

The original Alien. Just the tension from the search for the monster on the spaceship is very unnerving at times.
 
The Exorcist has been played out to the point that it's a comedy, but the scene where she is walking down the stairs turned upside down.... holy **** man.

The Ring and The Grudge were good because they harkened back to the days when horror relied on suspense, not brute force. Their Japanese roots also gave them a different feel.
 
The Orphanage(2007) ... watched it together with friends in the cinema ... all the suspense was way to much for me
