I don't know about the rest of you, but I have had a screen protector on my iPhone 7 and then, my iPhone 8, applied by a local shop from their inventory and it was fine, but covered about 99% of the front area, and for only US$10. Considering that my Ballistic iPhone 7 case is rather big, the protector was just fine. I still need to add one to my gen 2 SE.

There are now 4 reviews on Amazon. They're all bad and mentioned halo effeect and previous tray version (EZ Fit) is better.

Wow that’s pretty bad and definitely not up to standard for Spigen. I haven’t opened mine yet so I’ll probably just send it back and keep looking. The Insignia is still working fine on mine. I was buying the Spigen for my family members with an SE.

I also noticed it’s now ‘unavailable’ which makes me wonder if Spigen pulled them from the inventory due to the terrible reviews.

I just put the amFilm on my SE. Works perfectly. No halo.

Found it on eBay for $7.59 with free shipping. I made an offer of $6.75 and it was accepted.

I'll never understand why someone would pay $20+ for any screen protector. $40 for the Belkin at Apple. You gotta be kidding.

I'm a fan of matte screen protectors. I have used the iCarez anti glare film for my iPhone 8 previously. I now use it on my iPhone SE 2020, and it fits perfectly. It covers less of the glass than others, which is of course needed with the new SE. They now show "iPhone SE 2020" in the title, and costs $7.95 for a 3-pack.

I haven’t looked back through the thread, but have yall found any screen protectors that work well? I know the amfilm fits, but it’s so thick I don’t love it around the Touch ID - anyone find anything else yet?

youd probably have to get a film instead of tempered glass since thickness is an inherent tempered glass quality

Okay. I just thought some might be thicker than others. I never really notice it with other devices, but with the home button, it’s just right there hitting my thumb every time. I’m honestly thinking of leaving glass off, but I can’t deal with scratches/scuff marks on my devices.

Are there any films that aren’t matte? I don’t want matte.

I’ve been kinda tempted to do a screen protector and skin instead of a case. I love how small and light the phone is with no case.

I normally use the assistive touch virtual Home button, so I don't need to use the real Home button except for authenticating.
I was earlier using 5S which had a raised metal ring around the Home button, so having a glass screen protector never felt much different, but the new SE Home button is almost flush with the bezel so with the glass screen protector you can feel the edge.
Are there any good plastic screen protectors? I had tried them a long time back but those felt a little sticky and not as smooth as glass for especially while swiping.

I am so happy to inform you that a Screen Protector finally fits the iPhone SE 2020. You can buy it from AliExpress.

No ghosting in the sides, it took some massaging, but then it stuck, and looks great... Even with a backcover, it does not push the screen protector. I am so happy....

I ordered the amFilm twin pack from TechMatte AU via Amazon. The packaging is different to that in the listing with no specific mention of the SE 2020.

Link to product.

Can anyone confirm if this is likely to be the correct “non-haloing” product?

Thanks!

I agree with @snowatom that the ESR screen protector fits the SE quite seamlessly! After it coming up here and in this thread, I decided to give it a try. I tried the Belkin before, since that is what Apple and all the serious resellers carry, but that was terrible, as has been said.

Because is it so edge-to-edge, it is practically invisible. It stops exactly where my case begins so you don't even see the edges of the screen protector.

Only a few minor details you may want to consider:
* The added layer makes the home button feel slightly more sunken in
* For the same reason, the sides of my case don't rise as high above the screen as without a screen protector (meaning slightly less protection when placing the phone face down)
* At the black side borders, the protector might cut off a teeny-tiny portion of the screen. I'm talking barely visible, if at all.
* Because of the snug fit, I had to be careful to not have the edges of my case push up the screen protector while removing the case

But these are just minor details, some of which inevitable with any screen protector, that don't interfere.

While I'm at it, I wanted to show of this case that I paired it with: the Smartish Kung Fu Grip, which I found through a Wirecutter review here. I thought it looked good, particularly with the white iPhone. For extra thoroughness, I even added a foil back protector underneath the case which becomes entirely invisible with the case on. It's just too bad that over here in Europe we still have the eyesore of the CE and trash can marks on the back :).

I started out with a cheap film protector on my SE until the glass manufacturers figured out the halo. It worked fine. I liked how thin and unobtrusive it was but it smeared and smudged quite easily.

Then I got the amFilm glass protector. It fit perfectly and the smooth glass is so much nicer than the film. But, like you said, it's kind of thick and that takes away slightly from the slimness of the SE. Using the home button really emphasizes the thickness.

Then I thought about all the glass protectors I've used over the years and how they didn't get scratched up and if I did get any kind of scuff, it was almost imperceptible unless under bright light at a certain angle with the screen off. These almost impossible to see scuffs didn't bother me on the protector so why even bother with a protector, especially on a $400 phone?

So last night I ripped off the amFilm and I like it so much better. No more dust and dirt building up around the edge of the protector and the rear camera and earpiece. Now the home button has a nice slightly indented feel instead of the deep hole feel.

The screen protectors do the job they're suppose to do, especially for anyone overly concerned with any blemish on their screen, but at a cost to the user experience IMHO.

So there you have it. I'm running bare from here on out. It's kind of liberating. 😆

I’m still living with the AmFilm on mine, but mainly because the phone is going to my granddaughter after the 12s come out and I decide what to do. If I don’t go with a 5.4, I’ll order my granddaughter her own SE. At that point, I think I’ll drop the protector on my phone.

Same here. I was tired of my thumb getting jacked up with the sharp edges and corners of the am screen protector so I ripped it off and have been running the bare screen for a couple of weeks now. So far so good.

Any consensus on which screen protector is best and easiest to install?
or just go to Apple Store let them install or
do without one?

Ailun brand from Amazon is what I’m using. $6.89 for a 3 pack. I’ve tried several others since getting the phone and these are the cheapest and best, IMHO.

Is there any update on glass screen protector for iPhone SE 2020? Has any company released one which covers the entire display on SE?
I have tried a few of them but none of them fully covered the display leaving a noticeable gap along the edge and on top of that still give the halo effect around the edges because the SE 2020 display is curved along the edges, so the screen protector doesn't fully stick to the display.
Any good recommendations for screen protector which fully coves the front display possibly with round Home button cutout and for the top speaker only?

I would be surprised if any glass (not flexible) screen protector can go edge-to-edge without a halo. Seems like the are:

  1. visible halo to edge (clear-edge)
  2. invisible halo to edge (painted-edge)
  3. no halo (less than full coverage)
Maybe someone knows so other option, but I have not seen any yet.

I used amFilm for my iPad Pro 2020 11 inch and my iPhone 11 pro. I liked how it came with a few extra screen protectors and it actually did protect my screens on both of my devices! I don't use my iPhone 11 pro anymore since I upgraded to the 12 but I have a screen protector coming in that seems to be their sister brand, I'm not sure if they're the same brand but the packaging is really similar to amFilm.

But as for the non-haloing product, I'm not 100% sure.🤷‍♀️

Has anyone tried Otter screen protector on iPhone SE 2020?
I checked it in a store and it looks like a flat glass without any cutouts for the front camera and just the Home button hole which I would prefer but my concern is halo effect along the edges for SE, so wanted to see anyone has tried it before.

this one is marketed as 'halo free' and some user reviews report success.. very tempted to give it a try

amfilm is generally pretty good, too
Just wanted to chime in here. I’ve always used Spigen screen protectors with great success but their screen protector for the SE 2020 is bad as the edges won’t stick. I went through 4 of them all with the same problem. (Which is weird because I had a Spigen protector I on my 8 Plus which also had the curved screen edges and didn’t have a problem) I decided to try this amFilm one here and it worked great. It took a few minutes of rubbing down some parts of the edges but they all eventually stuck. CC947E1A-D5DC-43C1-8F87-9ED869F1F3B0.jpeg304A415A-F2C4-47D3-BA02-3BBA64847C78.jpeg

I havent fussed with my SE2 since putting that screen protector on. Glad to be over with that one, that sucks.

My GF's 11 screen protectors lifted all the time, it was annoying. Rare to find a brand and even one of them in the pack that didnt left, before she dropped and cracked it needing a replacement screen protector anyways

The curved glass just doesn't bode well for these things. I recall it not being an issue with my 6+,6s+,7+ or X but

maybe the extremity of subtle curve has stepped up or there's much more variation these days
