I found the oleophobic coating rubs off very quickly on the ESR and amFilm protectors.

Never ever noticed that & I've rough fingers/skin from all the chalk I use in training etc...

You're either very sensitive to it, or very picky...

I've got an amFilm screen protector on my Pixel 4XL; it's been on there years now. The same one I fitted when I first bought the phone; it's still spotless bar some very fine scratches that you can only see if you REALLY look for them, at the right angle/in the right light etc

Perhaps you don’t know what a good oleophobic coating feels like or you don’t mind. There’s no way it’s still on the protector after years of use.

We can just agree to disagree.

I think your over-expectations are 'overly-expected'

If they're that finite; then maybe you'll have to accept that you need to change screen protectors regularly...

No idea why as my mobiles & iPad screen protectors all feel as slick as they always have done

Individual perception perhaps; but it does sound like you're expecting too much

Thanks, is there anything else close? I love the Belkin except that the installation process just attracts dust like nothing else.
Zagg's flagship protector and then Otterbox's.

Is there an Apple Store near you? They do their installs with the fancy machine that comes out perfect.

I used one for awhile but after switching back to a regular non-matte Spigen, I can certainly say that Mothca affects the quality to a noticeable extent and the brightness also decreases slightly.

I Agree!

Currently using the Matte Mothca and I do love that you don’t get any fingerprints on the screen, BUT it does take away from the screen quality.

I feel like switching to a regular glass screen protector but I know I’ll regret it because of all the fingerprints.

Can’t Win - LOL

I liked the glass protector because the fingerprints were much easier to clean than on the bare screen, but it was the high reflectivity that got to me remove and toss it.

I’ve never participated in this thread because in my 15 years of using iPhones, I’ve rarely used them and when I did, I broke them within a few days.

Having said that, I’m dropping in to praise the Phone Rebel screen protector I received with my case back in April. The fit is fantastic and I got the installation almost perfect. The beveling at the edges makes it pretty much undetectable when swiping. Also, the oleophobic coating doesn’t seem to be wearing much at all.

I’m now going caseless with my 14PM (it’s that time of year) and the edges are more obvious now but I think it even looks sharp.

Very happy and highly recommend!

There is very little difference between quality glass screen protectors. It is how they are installed that makes a huge difference. The only one I have used for my last 2 iPhones is the Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector. What makes this one the very best is the installation jig that comes with it. It positions the screen protector correctly every time.

The secret of a good install is getting the screen totally clean, and make sure there are no cats with in a 20 square mile area ;). Get a bottle of 99% Medical grade alcohol. On your desktop place a damp kitchen towel place the iPhone on this, this will ground off any static charging, plus the dampness in the air will stop any dust and hair. The wimpy alcohol pads supplied just don't hack it. Putting on talcum free rubber examination gloves first with a cotton pad soaked with the Med grade alcohol scrub off the screen. let evaporate and scrub it again. This time I dry the screen with a dry cotton pad. Next I polish the screen with a new out of the package microfiber cloth. finally I blow off the screen with a watchmakers dust blower. Now I can install the screen protector.

This Rules!!!!!!!

Yup; as I've stated before. About the bests IMO

I fit mine when the phones brand new, out of the box - get it done ASAP and zero issues

But as you said, a damp environment helps a lot. I tend to do mine on the kitchen work surface with the kettle on boil etc; the steam helps to dampen down the air and stop anything landing on the screen...

Plus the cats aren't in the same room 😂

There are a couple deals for the screen protectors for the 15PM. They are the same size screen save for the bezels. They should fit the same no?

Quite surprised that most of you never talk about one of the single most important aspects of any glass protector — the EDGES!

In my experience, protectors that have black edges are far superior to protectors that have clear edges. Also, tapered edges matter too.

Why?

Because if you have clear edges on the protector, light hits those edges and makes the edges visible! Who in THE world wants to see that? I don't. Tapered black edges are better still.

This is why I am constantly shocked and surprised when nobody mentions this.

Anyway, I came here to read feedback about the ESR Amorite vs. the TORRAS Diamond Shield because those seem to rank at the top. Flolab also appears to be good, but I live in Japan and those aren't sold on Amazon Japan.

Just to 're-up' my advocacy for the Spigen EZFit protector for the 14PM

Fitted a new one to my 14PM yesterday as somehow I'd managed to scratch the one on the phone and you could feel the scratch it was that deep (absolutely no idea how I've done it but this is why I fit screen protectors)!

Pulled the old one off; gave the screen a quick blow with some compressed air; no dust on there, installed new protector with zero issues and zero flaws...

It's such a good design
