Use the Spigen screen protector
I thought about that, but I'm having a hard time tracking down one for the 46mm. Spigen and Amazon have the 42mm, but not the 46mm. I am also considering switching to a Pitaka Air Case.

Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for some stylish Apple Watch cases for my 40mm watch. I had a few clear cases for my old S1, but now that I’m back in CNC machining class after winter break next week, I’ll be around heavy machinery a lot, so I need something a bit tougher to protect my Apple Watch. I prefer cases that don’t add too much bulk, like the ones that snap in place. I don’t want to end up with a case that comes off if I bump my watch into a wall. I plan to use it once a week, as they can get pretty dirty if you don’t clean them after workouts.

I’ve found a few cases that I like, but I’d love to hear your opinions on them:

1. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09P4N33Z4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A5PXL13D1EEGT&psc=1
2. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09QQC2RG...d=2THKD2Y7PZAUA&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_ys_dp_it

Let me know what you think!

Ringke or Spigen I found were best for my AWU2; best fit etc

This for a 40mm Apple Watch as an example (albeit on Amazon UK):

Is this the one you’re referring to? Here’s the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08TMV92QX/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A211DMKAY2ZGJK&psc=1

Also, I’m curious to know if these polycarbonate cases scratch the casings of your Apple Watch. I have a stainless steel one, and that listing appears to be more secure than the others that snap onto the watch.

Yes and I never had any issues with my AWU2 Black Titanium which apparently scratched easily... Mine was spotless

Was the case scratched when you frequently used it? I detest when they get dirty easily, so I intend to use the case only on Tuesdays when I visit the machine shop. Fortunately, the case doesn’t have the entire back covered, so I can remove it without removing the entire band. That way I can keep it in the bag that I keep my safety glasses in until after my lunch time it’s machining class time, and I can pop the case in.

Additionally, I’ll check the stores to see if they have a band that comes with a clear case.

Mine was on all the time, more so when I was training in my garage or faffing with our cars etc... I've OCD and despise damaged/marked gadgets

But as far as I was aware; the case wasn't damaged/marked etc and if it did get dirty; I just popped it off, cleaned and the watch and then put it back on

Cleaning up is a breeze, right? I get my hands dirty when I go to machine shop class. Drilling/tapping fluid, coolant, chips, you name it. It’s like the motor oil and greasy pistons you deal with in the auto shop!

Even lots of calipers, steel tooling and sharp blades.

I have a secret weapon for cleaning my iPhone and Apple Watch, including their cases. It’s a screen cleaner spray that works wonders when something dirty gets on them. I also use it when changing bands and wiping down the sport bands.

Hey everyone, I’ve already got a case for my Apple Watch. It came with a blue striped band from the brand MVMT. It’s a plastic snap-on band that has a high bezel to prevent the edges of the watch from getting into things. It’s similar to the £8/$7 Ringke case that @danb1979 linked, which he used on his Apple Watch Ultra, but with a higher bezel. The only difference is that it doesn’t have any watermarks or logos on it, which I prefer. The box says it’s for the 41mm Apple Watch Series 7 to 9, but it fits my 40mm watch perfectly with extra space for the larger screen. The box on one side says it fits either model. There are no loose areas.

The same price as the one he linked, but I happened to be at the store again and also bought a Find My accessory. Here’s how it looks: IMG_5509.jpeg
Let’s see how it holds up when I wear it on Tuesdays for the machine shop class! That’s the only time I’ll be wearing it, including when I do gardening or something that has lots of sharp or heavy things like woodworking.

Use the Spigen screen protector
I have since switched to the Pitaka Air case, but I discovered that the constant bubble in the screen protector was due to a crooked install. So, essentially, it was user error.

Hey everyone, I’m sharing my experience with using a case once a week on my Apple Watch Series 6. So far, it’s been flawless. I even accidentally bumped my watch with the case against a CNC safety door, and it’s still intact. The case hasn’t broken or gotten any scratches. Now, I feel much more confident about wearing my Apple Watch to the machine shop.

I also pair it with a secure, non-magnetic band, such as an ocean band replica, sport bands, or any other type of band that doesn’t come off easily and is easy to clean. My CNC/engineering professor also wears a black case on his Apple Watch Series 3 SG 38mm with a black link bracelet and a screen protector built into it. He’s quite overdue for Apple upgrades with his iPhone SE 2/3 in black, haha.

With the case on, I don’t have to worry about my gold stainless steel watch getting hit by aluminum chips, heavy vises, or hammers.
Still open to any other suggestions y’all bout these things and screen protectors, I only have one case.

Awesome!

After a week of being unwell, I decided to return to the shops. I hadn’t been to TJX in a few weeks.

At TJ MAXX, I found a variety of straps with included clear cases. These cases are compatible with Apple Watches from the series 4 to 9. Some cases even have built-in screen protectors. The straps are priced between $7 and $8 (5-6 quid 💷) for an entire set, and they come with a sport band patterned replica.

My clear case is still intact, but if I see them go on clearance and the strap looks great, I’ll buy another one just in case I break my only clear case in class or something else.

I might also wear it with the case on when I do other heavy-duty tasks like washing shoes, gardening, or laying bricks. I could also wear it to more CNC classes or even in the industry, haha!

I think about 2/3 years then it just randomly stopped working but was so slow at that point it wasn’t worth repairing. It was also second hand so not sure about battery health etc as was so long ago.
Same here.

Is the case you're getting for the S10 a plastic one?

I got one for my S6 but only use it once every 1-2 weeks, specifically for CNC machining.

It kind of defeats the purpose of the gold stainless finish of my watch but I want to protect that watch when I have to deal with drilling, milling, sawing and doing heavy duty things.

Yeah it costs too much not to have one. Seems daft paying so little to cover an expensive item but will see how it holds up.

This is the description of the case:

Durable PC Case With Tempered Glass Screen Protector
Protect Your Watch Screen & Edge From Scratches
Wear With Satisfaction
Ultra Thin Tempered Glass Film & Touch Sensitivity
Gives Your Watch Pure Protection
Easy To Install & Take Off
Snap On Design
No Need To Remove Strap
Does Not Affect Daily Use & Charging

Mines is like that too.

Except it is a translucent one that does not have a screen protector built in it and it came with a strap.

You can take it off easily by popping it off.

Looks great! Make sure if you wear it everyday clean it after being in the water, after dirty activities and cleaning. It will get gunky if you never clean it! Learnt after the ones I had on my old Apple Watch cases that started looking nasty after using it for months!

Noted thanks. I want a nice yellow strap but don’t seem to be any decent ones kicking around.

Which yellow strap?

Sun glow? Check out the show off your Apple Watch thread and download Bandbriete on your iPhone to check out the database of Apple Watch colours in straps!

I like the yellow ocean band, since you have 46mm why not get one?
