3d touch is the iOS implementation of force touch, a different marketing name. As a matter of fact Craig Federighi called it Force Touch during the presentation. ;-)
I suspected that might be the case. I don't think its necessary, but okay. I guess you can't open shortcut menus with force-touch on OS X.

Or, they're gonna rename them all.

So, I know Apple wants to sell new hardware, but why couldn't the length of time a keypress is being made also pull up these menus. Force touch is neat, but holding on to the same link for longer period of time should be able to do the same thing.
I think that a long press will do somethings, while a force press will do other things. So that gives you three options (regular tap, long press, 3D touch)

I expect that Zagg's current .4mm glass protectors will work fine with 3D Touch. However, I am not inclined to believe that Zagg has actually VERIFIED this. Unless they said that they were able to get early access to the new devices, I think they are just making that statement so that presales will not be impacted. But I also expect that they are prepared to do a recall/replacement with thinner shields if they turn out to be wrong.
I really do hope they work, because I like them a lot.

Since Apple has moved to Gorilla Glass... I see zero need for a screen protector. I've had my phone in my pocket with my change and not had a single scratch. The protectors change the luminance of the screen, can be discolored, effects clarity, and are prone to gouging.

Question: What the hell is the purpose of screen protectors anyway? It doesn't protect from falling damage, the display isn't scratchable anyway because it's solid glass, it looks like hell, and makes you feel like you're on those early plastic-display smartphones. UGH those were horrible.

I think the idea is its "more" scratch resistant, not impossible. is why u'd still need to protect your screen. Personally, i don't have a need for them.

Lifeproof still lists the Fre and Fre Power for the 6S as "Coming Soon" and weirdly lists the Fre as "Coming Soon" for the 6S Plus while they do not offer it at all for the 6 Plus. o_O

I bet that those same screen protector guidelines are applicable to all of the iPhones and were just stated to address the concerns not so much that they were new and specific to the 3D Touch feature.

Yeah, I saw that too, and it is weird. Ever since otter box purchased them, they dropped the ball on wealth to be honest.

Seems Saviour Glass is no longer in business. All I get is a blank page when I try to go to their website.

I think they are made by Crest Electronics (who are still in business) and I'm not sure that they made versions for the 6/6+, so they may have just discontinued the product line.

That said, a 9H-rated tempered glass protector is amazing. I highly recommend finding one from another company.

Here are some reviews of iPhone 6 ones (keep in mind that most are 0.4mm and might interfere with Force Touch).

My phone fell out of my shirt pocket as I bent over a box of metal parts. Phone hit screen down on cast iron metal edge of part. Put a big crater in middle of screen. I was sick, then I remembered I had Zagg glass on my 6 plus. Peeled it off and was I ever happy, phone screen untouched. Replaced glass screen protector under life time warranty for 7 bucks. So you are full of male bovine fecal matter. Glass screen can protect from falling damage, at least sometimes.

Had a similar experience, having a glass screen can definitely be a screen saver, and is most definitely worth it.

Mine did the same except when I peeled off the protector it was shattered.
:(. Have yet to get it fixed bc I ordered the 6s

ZAGG's tempered glass screen protector works great with ForceTouch even though it's 0.4mm rather than the 0.3mm spec Apple wanted. No problem at all here.
