Screen size question for those who chose the 6S

I had the iPhone 6 and now the 6S. The 6 Plus is nice for screen size, but I knew from day 1 that it would not work for me. The screen on the 6 is more than adequate and the issue for me is comfort of use and portability. I don't use my phone for videos or gaming. I have an iPad Air 2 and mini 4 if I need screen size.

I got the 6 plus last year 2014 Got the 6S plus again launch day Sept 25 2015

Than when Verizon was gonna jack my unlimited data to $49.99. I used Best Buy loophole to get the 6S 4.7 model (simply cause I wanted to lock in the $29.99 unlimited data price by being under contract because price increased in November 15 2015.

Sold my 6S plus to my brother for super family discount. At first I liked the 4.7 inch 6S. It felt much more comfortable in my hands.

316ppi vs 401ppi. Really didn't know a huge difference between sharpness of screens. Both 5.5 and 4.7 were good screens.

But the battery life was inferior on the Samsung A9 4.7 inch. I got about 7 hours real time usage. Compared to 9 hours on my Samsung A9 5.5 inch. And my TSMC A9 gives me close to 11 hours battery life.

So I wish apple would just put a bigger battery in their phones.

I'm pleased with choosing the 6S, I had a go with the 6S+ and felt it was too big for me.

The 6S is almost the perfect screen size for me.

finner18, I feel your pain. Of course the cure for your dilemma is just don't pay attention to what other people are using, but that's easier said than done.:( My wife gets so upset with me because I have such a hard time making up my mind on what I want to get whenever I make a purchase. I'm lucky when it comes to phones though, as I just really like the smaller format of the 6s. When it finally comes time to give up my 5s that is what I will be getting.

Perfectly happy with the 6S. Last iPhone I have was the iPhone 5, but last phone I used was the Oneplus One, which is slightly larger. The 6S is great.
To me, the sizes of phablets are too small to actually use it as a tablet, yet too large to be a comfortable phone.

I had a quite elaborate internal debate about which one to get. I originally was thinking 6S Plus, but in addition to portability concerns, I also had concerns about performance. Since the 6S and the 6S Plus have the same internals - except for battery - I feel like the 6S performance is going to be a bit more efficient than the 6S Plus. Not that either of them should have any issue with lag or whatever, but, I just felt like the 6S performance would feel less compromised.

Maybe it's just me, but I almost feel like if the Plus is going to be bigger, then it should have higher powered internals. I mean, why can't the 6S Plus have the A9X chip and 3GB of RAM if it's going to be bigger and obviously have to handle more in order to push more pixels and support that 1080p resolution?

With that, and coming from a 5S, no regrets here as far as deciding to go with the 6S over the 6S Plus.

My struggle has been going on the past two releases.

I got a 6 Plus last year. It was just too big for me to get on with. I went down to a 6 for the year and was thrilled with the size and often thought of it as the perfect size. Plus envy started out as a non issue, but the more larger phones became normal "in the wild" the more the Plus envy kicked in.

I picked up a 6S Plus this year and have pretty much decided to commit. I'm surprised at how normal the plus feels now, and two thumbed typing in portrait is awesome, a pleasure in fact. One handed browser and navigating really isn't that hard for me. The right case helps (really slim and really grippy). The Spigen Liquid Crystal fits the bill for me. Barely any extra added size and good old TPU grips my hands and fingers very well.

But there are of course those times when I miss the ninja-like ability I developed to do anything with only one hand on the 4.7" phone.

Either of these iPhones is a trade off and a compromise. I thought it last year and I feel the same this year. The perfect solution would be a 5.2" iPhone with slightly smaller bezels.

The only kicker is I think it'll be hard to go back to 4.7" after having used the 5.5" for a while.

The screen on the Plus doesn't look big to me, therefore the 4.7" does look small now. But the size factor never really changes. The current Plus is a little too big for its screen size.

The features make it an unfair fight. If the 4.7" phone had OIS and better battery life, that'd make going with the non-Plus a lot easier.

Either way we are lucky to have two great choices (or more if you consider Android options). It's a blessing and a curse I guess.

Well, on Monday the 128GB 6S+ I bought off of Swappa will arrive. I have yet to decide if I will even take it out of the box or just immediately list it. Odds are good I can break even. In a way I feel guilty not going with it. I have mentioned before I have pretty large hands. I cannot whip the plus around with the same ease as the 6S, but I can still manage it rather well. Only occasionally do I need to use reachability, yet I never need to on the 6S. I think the plus "looks" more natural in my hand, but now we're splitting hairs and getting into even more ridiculous grounds. As if I haven't been neurotic enough about this. But anyone reading my bs, please know, I am well aware this is as first-world-problems as it gets. I joke, but I do in the end keep perspective of just how little this really matters.
On the left is the 6S and the right is the 6S Plus. I spent 20 min trying to get the other to not appear sideways and finally gave up.

To the poster above me...

It's crazy to me how small the 4.7" iPhone looks in your hand there. The Plus looks normal. I feel that way since getting the Plus as well. It's strange to me because last year the Plus felt like such an unmanageable monster.

Wow Finn, the 6S practically disappears in your hand. :D Good luck with your decision. I don't think you can go wrong either way as the 6S and 6S Plus are both awesome phones. :)

I've totally adjusted to the size coming from the 6 Plus to the 6S. However whenever I pick up a Plus phone and see the display I get a stab of envy and regret at how much crisper and nice the 1080p display is.

I have ordered a 6s and a 6sp from apple last week. I use 6s for one day and 6sp for another. I am still having hard time to make a decision... maybe I do need some helps.

I upgraded from iPhone 6 16G, my original thought was to have bigger screen, but given the fact the larger size, I feel weird when I pull out my phone every time in the public, school, church, or front of friends....

You'll probably adjust to the Plus within a week or two if you just use it. Mine felt 'normal' sized once I had adjusted. I swapped back to the regular size as I started taking my phone running with me instead of my nano, the Plus was a bit too big to be comfortable on my arm. Otherwise I would have happily got the 6S Plus.

I just don't like the others to see what I am watching or texting on the screen......privacy....

I downgraded from the 6+ to the 6 (now 6S). I don't regret my decision at all. The 6 4.7" screen doesn't seem small or puny. On the flip-side the 6+ felt unwieldy with one-hand.

For those of you who made the decision to choose the 6S above all other phones out there, regardless if you are coming from a smaller phone, the 6, or downsizing from a larger phone, how do you feel now? Are you still happy with your decision? Do you ever feel the phone is 'small' or that the screen is inadequate for any of your needs? I am talking screen size only. Not asking about feelings on battery life, lack of OIS, or non-1080p.

I've read many times from 6 Plus and 6S Plus users that the 4.7" seems small now. Some describe it as a 'toy' now in comparison and that is fine. I am not seeking opinions of the larger phones at this time. I am just curious if those who chose the 6S, for whatever reason, have now found any regrets regarding the smaller screen size. I appreciate anyone willing to share.
Last year, I opted for the 6 Plus and I still have it and still loving it. Great for browsing, watching videos for its 1080p res and excellent battery. But this year, I chose the 6s to have a small phone that I can navigate with just one hand (most of the time). BUT I do regret not buying the 6s plus because jumping from the 6 plus to the 6s which I use at the same time, 6s seems small and that low res makes it inferior. Next year, I will ditch the 4.7 phone and go for the Plus variant.

It seems that it's super hard for people going back to a smaller screen from a larger one; the ones use smaller screen phone struggle the most.

Heck, Im still on the 5. I cannot stand the 6s size. I love gripping the 5 edge to edge and easily fitting it in my shirt pocket. If Apple doesn't bring back the form size my next phone will be a 5s or even an android.

I know I'm not alone.

I notice what phones people are using when i walk around at work or if I am out and about. I buy a plus off of swappa only to use it three to four days and go back to my 6S and resell the plus. That does me fine for about a week and then I am back on swappa. I want the plus when I have the regular and I want the regular when I have the plus. Trust me, my sanity went out the window many moons ago. I've lost all control.

Same here. Most people think we're insane, but we're not right?

I'm in the same club. I've decided to commit to the Plus this year, but now and then I start longing for that stealthy little 6 I unloaded on Swappa a number of weeks back.

When I had the 6, and I'd see a 6 Plus in the wild, I'd always say "oi, that thing is too big", but my inner voice was saying, "dang, that's awesome".
