I just can’t handle a platform that tracks your location even when you turn it off (Android)

And the google home bug accidentally recording users 24/7 until they “found” and “fixed” it

So flagrantly dishonest and creepy

Who knows what else

Not necessarily that Apple is any better behind the scenes. I have a healthy dose of skepticism since they’re singular in their views of things but ..

I like to hope im at least slightly better off with iOS than Android when it comes to creepy excessive privacy invasions that are just the ultimate slap in the face to customers
There are some things I don't use or do with either type of device so I don't know if the issues you state will be my issues.

That said, if you were (or are) a female iPhone user: https://thenextweb.com/apple/2017/10/31/apple-bra-photos-iphone-looking-at-boobs/

Apple only cares about fashion and the iphone 7 and 8 are not in fashion anymore. Buy the iphone ten if you want to be cool again. #iFashion

Apple believes Animojis are a feature on a device sold to mature adults and business, as well as a poop emoji.

No, they don't believe Animoji's are the future. They believe the True Depth technology behind the Animoji's are the future and they are demonstrating how Animoji's utilizes the new camera capabilities to show case this. I don't necessarily believe everybody should have to like the Animoji's, which I personally do not use. But I do see what Apple is trying to do here with this technology and how it's utilizing face mapping. It is interesting in the least.

I get that Apple has to promote the latest and greatest products but I think Jonny Ive really slaps his customers in the face when he craps on the iPhone 7 Plus like he did a couple of days ago. “It now seems to me a rather disconnected component housed in an enclosure.” There are millions of people with that phone in their pocket because they purchased a product that they believed Apple poured their heart and soul into. What message does this send to iPhone 8 Plus owners - essentially the same enclosure. I love my iPhone 8 Plus but statements like this really leave a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to Apple products and their marketing.

Who cares? If there’s one thing that this year’s iPhones have taught me it’s that people care way too much about what other people think of their phone’s appearance. People really do just treat them like fashion accessories now.

Maybe he is pulling a George Costanzo and trying to get fired? Idk, personally I think his heart has been out of Apple for along time now. Especially after Steve Died.

Uh they NEVER cared about their customers. Apple isn't your best friend, they are a company that makes a lot of money. The sooner people realize they don't owe anyone anything, the sooner you can start enjoying your phones or computers. Companies start acting like they care when they get some bad press. Apple goes out of their way (relatively speaking) to not get to that point. Vote with your dollars, but good luck finding a phone manufacturer that "cares" about anyone's feelings. Feelings take are a very low priority compared to shareholder returns.
Right!!

I misused the word “care”I meant they dont respect the almighty dollar anymore as they once did. They are almost a trillion dollar company now.

I bet Jony was taking a crap and accidentally smeared some on the top of his iPhone 7 and envisioned the notch on iPhone X . He has become so arrogant .

I actually agree with Jobs. People are idiots. They don't know what's best for them. Apple has failed a number of times of predicting what people want/need and have paid the price of launch failures. But they also introduced a number of things that people did want and actually revolutionized industries. So all the complaining on MR proves the point, people ask for stupid things, but the Apple machine keeps growing. They're getting things right for the most part. Every time Apple has had the balls to make a move (no physical keyboard, lightning connector, removing headphone jack, removing TouchID) people have flipped out, but the machine keeps moving forward. Can you imagine the device that would exist if they didn't do these things? It would be a Blackberry or a Windows phone from 2003. They are definitely taking risks, and paying the price in terms of hurt feelings of customers. I'm not a designer, but I am enjoying what they are putting out. Good thing is if it strays too much from what any individual wants, there are a ton of options out there.

I don't know that I've ever seen a more pretentious person than Jonny Ive.
Haha. Yes he is for sure, but I don't hate because it takes a type to be an artist. The Beatles and Hendrix needed acid to take their music to the next level, and they were as pretentious as it gets. But they created pure genius. I'm not an artist, so I'm just jealous of their creativity.

I didn't say future, I said feature. Although in your context I can see what you are referring to.

I think they could have chosen something better than Animojis as a feature that exhibits this though. What, I don't know.

Or at the very least if it's going to be Animojis, not promoting it as a feature on par with say the camera or the processor.

Damned if he speaks his mind. Others are damned if they don't.
Did Ives need to be diplomatic in sharing his thoughts? Perhaps.

My take away is he's kind of right- from a point of view such as his (and his honesty is refreshing), yet
on the other hand I don't look at my iPhone 8+ any differently after reading it.

I enjoy reading opinions that differ from mine- especially so when that person has insight and shares why they
think differently.
