I'm surprised the 6s scored lower than the 6s Plus on 3Dmark. Doesn't the plus have to push more pixels, leading to a lower score?

The best performing iPhone in a couple of different ways, yet will still be called the "budget iPhone" by the insecure 6S-Plus crew.

The SE is going to be a great phone.

I own a Plus and refer to the SE as a smaller alternative. It's very pocketable and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb when wearing it as an arm band during runs.

It's still a good budget iPhone as far as someone's budget is actually concerned, but that's about it. ;)

Those 6S plus benchmarks are way off. Just ran all 4 on the 6S Plus, results as follows:

3dmark IS unlimited 29102

Geekbench 4415

Basemark 2724

sunspider 221

Not really. As a girl who likes to take lots of photos on the go but who doesn't want to pack around a bulky DSLR or even a 4.7/5.5" iPhone, the SE fills a niche as a great pocket-sized camera that's incredibly easy to hold on to while maintaining the killer camera of the larger models!

Size matters... and sometimes in the sense that it's a smaller size.

That seems to go on line with what I said--that it can be still seen as a budget phone as far as its actual cost goes but not in other respects.

No disrespect to anyone, but labeling the SE as a "budget" iPhone is borderline ignorant.

It's almost on par with the flagship 6S that was launched six months ago. Minus a few specs that most people won't care about.

I think we can all agree that the 5c was Apple's official budget iPhone.
I think people like myself who refer to it as a budget iPhone do so not because of the specs but because of the price.

Sadly MacRumors headlines mostly ignore the iPhone SE initial success :(
They much prefer click-bait and flame-bait headlines about Apple ...

The iPhone SE really seems to be a great product. Sadly I missed it for a few months (I bought my iPhone 6S in January to replace my 6).

Wow...its on par with the 6S Plus. Very impression job by Apple to not make a (2016) version of the iPhone 5C.
It's called learning from their mistakes...

Superior Edition? With under 720p resolution?
It has the same PPI of the iPhone 6S.
Resolution is irrelevant if the PPI are the same.

maybe if you are american ... here the iPhone SE costs about $577/$690
Hardly a budget phone...

Oh yeah I forgot to mention I meant from a US perspective. Sorry.
