Let me guess... thinner, shorter battery life, price bump, now available in jet black.
Wow, you can take a rumor about nice improvements to an already great Apple product and douse it with your bitterness. Impressive.

I agree, i currently still use Pencil by 53, and it's great to use, too thick though...I've tried flat pencils and pens. They're actually quite comfortable compared to the round ones. Plus they don't roll around if you set them down.
I got the iPad Pro 12.9 inch when it was released, and as soon as I could get the Pencil I did. I was excited about it.
I think it has been more than a year since I used the Pencil. I'm not saying it's not a great piece of kit, but I overestimated my likelihood of using it. The iPad Pro itself has been a great tablet for me.
It's kind of like all the PDAs I bought, thinking I could get my life organized with them, only to end up with a drawer full of PDAs. It wasn't until the iPhone that the PDA concept finally worked for me.
I had a lot of disposable income, so I don't really regret all the purchases. If I hadn't bought those, I'd have spent the money on something else. (I also saved and invested enough to retire early.) Now that I'm retired I expect to buy fewer toys when I don't know exactly how they will work for me.
yes i think that was the idea for those larger trackpads...to add input for the pencilAfter seeing that one patent from a while ago, I'm mostly hoping they finally add compatibility with the new MBP trackpads. The larger surface area would really lend itself to the Apple Pencil and it would definitely convince me to buy one on release day.
They even did it on early Macs for the Front Row remotes! Just not sure how practical it would be in regards to traveling with the pencil as it would probably fall off.The magnet to attach to the iPad seems like it should have been a generation one feature.
I really like the feel of the Pencil, but would welcome an eraser on the back. I've seen a lot of criticism of the charging through the iPad's lightning port, but I haven't heard a more elegant alternative. I'd like to see Adobe step up and really port Photoshop over to the iPad. It has the power so I don't think we have to still do Photoshop light
Editor out to lunch?
Yikes.

Thank you, powers-that-be. Apple engineers should be commended for making a Pencil that sucks and blows at the same time. Please steal the Microsoft Surface pen and we'll all be happy clams.
They actually pretty much described the 2016 MacBook Pro update.Wow, you can take a rumor about nice improvements to an already great Apple product and douse it with your bitterness. Impressive.
I haven't used the Surface pen for an extended period of time, but I tried it out at a Microsoft Store and came away unimpressed when compared to the Apple Pencil/iPad Pro combination. I think the Apple Pencil is one of the best products Apple has produced in a long time. Upgrades will be welcome.Thank you, powers-that-be. ...including new antenna technology and a magnet that would allow the Apple Pencil to attach to an iPad's body when not in use, so it will easily fall off and get lost, forcing you to buy a new one again and again.
Cool, I like the Apple Pencil, if they can make it better, props.
Maybe if the could make charging port female, that could be great. The fact the port is male, every time I charge on my iPad I have the fear it can break easily on an accident. They have to figure out a more elegant way there.
Or better yet make it charge FROM the Airpods and they can also act as a holder for it.I hope they get rid of its lightning port, and instead of that, they add an eraser... as for charging, i hope they ship it with dock that can be placed on the desk, and when pencil goes in it, it charges, like AirPods
