All on message don't ya think?

It's like taking a few forum comments and elevating it to some kind of insider status.

Having had a Samsung SII (which I liked), Samsung S5 mini and also a S5 (which got lost/stolen so had to be replace) we switched to two Apple 6s. Best decision ever. Security suddenly became a huge issue.

In one way I regret not getting an iPhone years ago. Especially while having only macs.

I had a quick look at the 5SE recently and I have to say it's a perfect small phone, it's lighter than you think it will be. Many people do not have large hands. The build quality is also astounding for such a phone. My S5 mini was nearly €500 and I never was entirely happy with it, and was in the end a waste of money and the S5 was if I remember a few hundred euros more again. Nice screen, a little to big for my liking but it too and connectivity issues but it was not my phone though I never heard the end of complaints about connectivity. Since I replaced with with the 6s I hear very little complaints to the point now it's got to be the network coverage black spots.

Constantly having to reset the S5 mini was a joke. Hard resetting, pulling the battery out. Yep that use to happen on the SII if it became unresponsive. Never getting the update from Samsung. Poor LTE/4G connectivity. Missing calls due to drop out of coverage. Total waste of time and energy. I'm glad I bit the bullet like I did in 2008. The 6s is a great device. Android is at times a hot mess. I see other family members with their phones customised with so many insecure apps the things struggle and do not operate correctly. I try to explain to them the security risk they are takin but they don't seem to care too much. This is why I'd prefer they had a iDevice, there lack of care is catered for better. I've also seen a lot of commentary on the battery life in reviews from users of samsung not being as good as advertised. So from experience I write not specs on paper.

The only time I've had to reset the iPhone is sometimes to force the network to see it, which happens in areas of bad connectivity. It's rare. Maybe three times since I got it. I was doing this every few days sometimes every day with the other phones.

These articles really smack of an intentional and concerted effort to talk down Apple. Be weary of the MSM, people are set to make money of bad news for Apple.

Remind me again, Apple are still the only one making money out of phones right?

Seriously, what are you rambling on about? I replied to a post about india falling hard and chiina taking up the slack and china IS down 26%, That doesn't seem like china taking up the slack to me. What does you liking your iphone have to do with that? Your post is a truly ridiculous one that has nothing to do with that. You post individual anecdotal evidence to counter the drop there? Really? You are too full of yourself, obviously.

Want anecdotal evidence that has nothing to do with the post? I switched to moto x pure from iphone and its the best move I have ever made. I like it a lot better and at half the price. You do realize you are comparing to a 2 version old phone in the s5, right? I also had 3 s2's for the kids and they were great for the time but how many years ago?

Why should I remind you of anything bucko? I never said apple is going under.

Don't get so butthurt just because china's percentage is falling. Want to dispute that then post proof it is not, proclaiming your love for a phone does not do that. What a meandering bunch of nothing. Jeez.

Nobody said apple is going anywhere so don't get so upset, just that china is dying down quicker than anyone thought they would.

Have a good life. Refer to my sig.

Investor waits until a stock tanks to sell....time to find a new hedge fund investor.
[doublepost=1463401771][/doublepost]I will say this. when it comes to giving the people what they want or even what they don't know they need....they are usually good.

I am frustrated beyond belief over the slow development of the macbook Pro. I need a portable powerhouse and have 3K ready to drop the moment the updated one is announced. That is what I want...I am not getting it.

They DID deliver on the iPad pro with the apple pencil. Best writing instrument on the planet and at first the narwal was the stupidest idea ever until I used it. Charge in the port is genius. I think I have charged the pencil twice on the charger.

Now if they deliver a touch interface on the macbook pro. No I don't want to draw on it like the iPad but being about to touch a screen is actually advantageous at times. It is the one thing I like about my surface. The ONE thing.

The only thing I hope for, is that Apple focuses on its business and innovation and less about its stock price, or who buys it. If you start worrying about the price of the stock, you take your eyes off of what got you there in the first place.

One of the most intelligent posts on the subject I have read. And I do believe that Apple, while not losing sight of the stock's performance is not letting quarterly reports and fickle stock traders influence their decisions.

Innovation synonyms: change, alteration, revolution, upheaval, transformation, metamorphosis, breakthrough.

Use a dictionary next time, it helps.
In order to find synonyms, you don't use a dictionary, you use a thesaurus.

Innovation is the noun derivative of innovate (meaning that it has the same core meaning, one is an action, while the other is the name of a state of being). Here is what a dictionary (The Concise Oxford Dictionary 12th Edition) ACTUALLY tells us:

Innovate:
verb - change something established by introducing new methods, ideas, or products.

Note: Innovate does NOT mean to invent something new; it means to CHANGE SOMETHING THAT IS ALREADY ESTABLISHED. Many people are getting these two confused.

Nice to meet you too SIR Bucko Butthurtus.

I was primarily dealing with the content of the NY TIMES article. I didn't even register your post I would have removed it from the quote. Comments aimed at NY TIMES and Msm narrative I a rhetorical style.

I can see that was not clear from your warm comments.

I am selling all my shares in Apple Basher Inc..

The tired old trifecta of 16 gb, 5400 hdd and Watch Bands has run its course. Where is the Apple Bashing innovation?.

Unless you're online then you can use a dictionary because it puts the synonyms with the definition.

Not only to I know the definition of innovation, I own and read books on innovation, and work with innovation processes.

A synonym for a word is not the definition of a word.

And, I don't understand why you're needlessly rude and sarcastic with me. Did I hurt you?

Oh yes, I was so rude to you.

Do you know what a synonym is while we're at it?

IMHO it's the software stupid!!!! People used to buy Apple hardware just to run the fantastic software. I think the hardware division is doing fine. It's the software that has fallen to an all time low. It's ****. I know Apple can do better. We've seen it. They need to stop trying to over think this stuff. Make it stable and make it work. Right now, neither is the case.

I disagree. iOS is the only reason iPhone is better than an android device.
And the iPhone 6 hardware is the only thing that makes the iPhone feel like a relic.

Please clarify. At the time of iPhone 6 release and shortly after, it was considered the best phone on the market. iPhone 6S is now the current king.

Android phone manufacturers are good at checking off boxes on a marketing pamphlet when it comes to hardware, but the overall experience provided is substantially less than what Apple provides. To point out a few examples:

1. Lack of updates. You need to buy a new Android phone to get the latest update.
2. Lack of fluidity across devices. Can't compete with iOS and OS X.
3. Skins on top of the OS. This brings additional lag and unwanted apps on top of existing ones.

Bottom line, if someone is in the market for a phone and chose the older iPhone 6, they would be better off than grabbing an android phone IMHO.

my son has a 4yr old S3 and it runs perfectly fine, does everything he needs it to do.
2. Lack of fluidity across devices. Can't compete with iOS and OS X.
same phone "S3" still runs across all devices. like windows, mac, linux i.e. can still use sync options like apples handoff on all device even from his work computer than runs windows, his home laptop that runs OSX and runs on linux . can't do that with an iphone it wont run across any device that is not an apple device. android totally wins here.

sure there is some lag on the old S3 but it does everything without fail. it does things my new 6s plus can't. he can trasnfer files from a usb stick. I can't do that on my iphone.

Yeah we both agree pretty much. And iOS is the main reason an iPhone is better than an android device. My only complaint is that the 6 series hardware is quaint and ugly compared to something like the Note 5. It's a hardware problem. Ironically it's Jony Ives department that is the problem with the iPhone 6. Which is strange considering he is one of the reasons for Apple's strong industrial design excellence.

That's easy: "Its not like 7200 RMP is going to be a huge improvement and it might cause heat problems..."

The mystery is why they even offer the option of spinning rust in a machine like the iMac, when you can have a PCIe SSD instead. Probably marketing decided that the base model had to say "1TB" on the box for the benefit of people who - in the age of Thunderbolt, USB 3 and a/c WiFi - still think you need masses of built-in storage in a SFF desktop.

Seriously, there are better things to criticise Apple over.
Wow. With that logic a car maker could release a vehicle with only 10 MPG and say, "Hey, it's not our fault you didn't get our electric and instead choose a spinning rust machine. Deal with it!"

The difference is no one would stick up for a car maker who pulled that stunt.

ROTFL!

Pro tip: don't go out and buy a new car until you've got that nasty case of naiveté seen to.

The car market is all about setting the headline price with a base model and then getting the customers to pay for options. Have you never seen a car review that says that the entry-level engine is a bit weak (heck, I think I'm driving an example) and advises buyers to get the upgrade? Or did you miss Elon Musk (quick burst of heavenly choir music) saying that the average selling price of his "$35k" Model 3 will probably be $42k with options?

The main point of an entry-level model is to tempt people in the door with a low price so you can upsell them. Don't complain when Apple acts like its a business that wants to make money.

Seriously guys you do realise that some 5400rpm drive perform nearly as well as some 7200rpm under tests. It's also a quality issue as not all drives are made equal. However, stock prices have nothing to do with the speed of base model hard drives in mac offerings. The Stock market is overvalued that's it deemed to be in dangerous bubble territory.

I'm sure if you read the FT you see most probably no mention of HD speed on base offerings, it's always iPhone and iPad. What did Icahn say about HD speeds... oh right, he didn't say anything, it was something about China and the government.

Well you didn't really dispute anything outside of item 2.

1. Just because your son's phone still runs great doesn't mean he shouldn't get new features for free. He definitely should be getting security fixes and bug fixes for free. At least for a few years.

2. We agree to disagree. My definition of user experience differentiates from yours. iOS integrates with OS X seamlessly out the box. I'm sure the Android integration requires installed and work arounds to get most of the stuff covered.

3. We agree on the lag the skin provides and the fact that it is unnecessary bloat. Yes, each device has unique features that are a plus. In Apple's case Night Shift and 3D Touch.
