I was mainly referring to the iPad Pro line. Having 7.9" iPad mini + 9.7" iPad Air + 9.7" iPad Pro + 12.9" iPad Pro is already very fragmented; but if the smaller Pro is made slightly larger and iPad Air is given a refresh but stays the same screen size, that would at least stop things from getting worse.

Personally I just think the Pro 9.7 should just go away and an Air in either 9.7 or 10.5 inch should be retained but with the specs and features of the 9.7 Pro, but at the price of the Air.

IMHO

- iPad Mini 7.9
- iPad 10.5
- iPad+ 12.9

Very simple :D

There's what an Apple product lineup should look like, no more complexity than that. It also matches the three screen sizes available on iPhones, and consistency is another thing Apple's current product lineups lack.

Yes it would be better this way. The iPhone SE should be renamed Mini also. This would only work if the Mini and the 'iPad' were reasonably priced.

you have to hold the thing without having your fingers in the way. Even a Book has a bezel its the white space around the Text. Consider the Bezel a non active part of the Display. There is no design advantage removing it, in fact its stupid.

This looks like a Rumor that some one creates when he takes a Ruler to his iPad Air and measured the max Display size if there was no Bezel.

How an earth can anyone believe this story, or rather the reasoning.

So a 9.7" screen is too small for this segment of the market, but a 10.5" screen is perfect.

That 0.7" makes the difference between unusable and usable does it?

I would bet, if you did blind tests with random public, and swapped a 9.7 and 10.5" screen almost no-one would know the difference unless they were side by side.

I love the screen being a littler larger, and bezels being thinner but I don't buy this story's reasoning.

Who cares about another iPad in the same size range with different spec's, as long as the iPad Mini is alive and not discontinued...!

Yaaaawn. Its astonishing that a company with the resources Apple has, seems no longer able to innovate. Ipad is seriously boring. Incrementally micro-updating it is boring. Macbook's are now boring. iMacs are old. Where has all the excitement gone? If they could just update the mac pro, again, and stun me, like they could back then. These days, its all phones, ipads and macbooks for the lowest common denominator.. If they want some more of my cash, they are going to have to get to work.

its amazing all the complaints. its an update, with new hardware specs. probably these products are not intended for those who already have an ipad.

I think since we got a powerful hardware since last year A9x apple needs to offer a more focus with ios11 with easy acces files, multieple users accounts( like the feature from new macbook pro with touchid)

So my tab S is currently 10.5in screen. Wait a minute!!! If I cast my mind to the rediculous piss take thread where Samsung are copying Apple by having a shiny black colour. Even they they already do a shiny black, it was a wind up that got the defense league out in force. So what's the difference now they are blatantly copying Samsung in screen size. They pathetically copied the large phone size, and the smaller tablet size. So hey let's copy the middle ground. Embarrassing!! Let me guess tho, they will do 10.5in screens RIGHT!! Is that the phrase.

Waiting for everyone to gloss over the shameless copying tactics of a company so devoid of innovation it's laughable!!!

Screen size is just a number and isn't something that is 'copied' per se. The Samsung thread was as such because it was just the latest thing in a long, long line them copying Apple's designs.

There's three pages of it here. Sure some are a little sketchy but you get the point.

I'd like to think the mini doesn't get neglected again in this round of updates. It's understandable why they prioritise the better hardware in the larger models but for many, it's a perfect secondary device

I won't hold my breath, though

Well done.
9.7", 12.9", 10.5" iPad.

Next year we will also see 4.7", 5.5", 5.8" iPhone.

Wait, 12.9" is too expensive? Yeah, but how 10.5" can be cheaper?
They've been pushing towards iOS software auto-adapting to different sizes, like on a computer, so there's no good reason to stick to the same classical sizes anymore.
