Yikes someone is getting a bit defensive

Ripoffs are never cool
But I would not mind seeing a comparison between the replica and the original.

At least you appreciate the real deal :))). I'd be willing to bet the craftsmanship of the fake is pretty sorry, the real one I have feel soooo awesome! The fake Is either probably way heavier or way cheap feeling (too light)

And people shouldn't be allowed to post about the fake cases on this thread, this is after all the Sector 5 order thread.

Agreed with the fake... There is a fake comp pro 5 thread... start a fake sector 5 thread

those who want to ogle over it may do so in it lol

Not surprising, lots of element shills on element threads, it really gets their goat if someone points to replicas :D. They start resorting to personal attacks or strawman arguments :p

Well if the fake Vapro Pros and Comps are any indications, the S5 replica should be fairly similar to the original at a fraction of its price.

What does the thread title say? This is for posts related to Sector 5 ordering and related. It's not for fake sector 5 info or reviews.

And no I don't work for element, but after I spend my hard earned money and pre ordered, waited and got the enjoyment of receiving this beautiful piece of work yeah I get a little ill when someone posts this garbage about fake sector 5s - and YOU ATTACKED ME BUDDY - if you want to get flamed, go ahead because there are plenty of others on here that will back me up because I don't hijack threads with irrelevant information and I don't pop in and attack another member for their opinion

Do you own a Sector 5 (not fake) or do you have one on order? If not if you are going to comment here lets keep it relevant.

And I guess I am a bit defensive, but one thing I know is those who have a real sector 5 or any element case for that matter will have the satisfaction that they have a better product than those with fake ones :) :) :). Hard to argue with that huh :)

People complain about lack of innovation and lack of game changers.. then go out and support a duplicate fake instead of supporting the company that came out with the innovation.

I work for a company that spends about 1/5 of the earnings back into R&D and let me tell you, R&D is not cheap. You not only have to come up with an amazing design, but you also have to tweek that design until it works exactly the way you want it. Then you spend money testing the product and making more tweeks until you finally have a product worth selling that people want to buy. So if you want to support fake **** go for it, but you will ALWAYS get flamed.

If you want innovation, support the innovator, not the person that offers a design-like the innovation at half the price then complain about how companies are no longer "changing the game" with their products.

Well if you are paying $160 for this case, it better be better then a $30 Chinese knock off.

I don't even have to see the knock off to know that the real deal is in fact better - and again I don't care to pay extra to support the company, their innovations and of course my fellow Americans!

You calling me a shill? Not hardly! I don't care if they make fake S5s... but this is not the thread to be discussing them and their availability. The other fakes have their own thread... What makes the S5 knock-off any different?

Anyway... Do I need to show my order summary as proof I am a paying customer?

Take it easy mate. No need to be defensive. I'm referring to those who seem to have ample time to write several paragraphs just because someone mentioned repicas.

Ok, let's bring this thread back down to topic....

God, Monday can't get here soon enough... I just hope that FedEx delivery man drops off my box because I won't be home to meet him/her.

+1 on bringing this thread back to normal

2 weeks after everyone has gotten their case it'll be fun to come back & re-read some of the stuff in the late 30 pages

You sir have a strange definition of fun

I thought the bgr.com review of the case seems fair

At $145, most people won’t reach for their wallets to preorder a Sector 5, “Made in the USA” or not. It’s a luxury item that doesn’t look or feel tacky and is as functional as it is sleek. It’s definitely a slick piece of kit but I wish it was priced below $100. At $50, these things would fly off shelves as fast as Incase and Speck cases.

<insert link to replica here> ;)

Does Element manufacture in China? Because if they do, someone may have just gone to the manufacturer and paid them off to run some extra batches.

I mean, the cases look so similar that it's hard to believe they aren't coming off of the same line.

Not sure if that's the happening here, but this is a big problem for companies that use Chinese factories for many products. I read once in the main stream press that some companies see it as an inevitable consequence of having such cheap production costs and let a certain amount of it slide. It's a particually common issue with batteries for some reason. I once brought an 'OEM' power suply for my PC because I knew it was the exact same one designed and sold by a big name company, yet it cost a fraction of the cost. It even had a sticker covering the logo of the main companies which was embossed in the metal housing. I'm sure companies hate it, and it's even part of the contract, but some factories are so cheap to use they probably calculate the pros (profits) outweigh the cons.

Like I say though, not sure that's happening with element as they do say its made in the USA. But is that truly fully 'made' or assembled? Some companies say 'made in the USA' when actually the parts are made elsewhere and put together in the US.

I have one question about Black Edition....

Does black edition have a Non-Glare matte finish (rough finish like BlackOps or Stealth edition for iphone4) or it is glossy?

Nope... Element Case has all of their machining done in the US. If you look closely at the pics of the fake, you'll notice that it appears to be based off of the renders that EC posted on their page and not the real thing. The design changed slightly before real production.

Standard Edition available now

Hey guys. So much for Monday, the SE is available now (not that it matters). The Gun Metal is seemingly still available as a SE option.

It's also noted that they won't begin shipping until Dec 3rd.

The first addition was called graphite not gunmetal. I wonder if they are different. As previously pointed out the black polymer is all clear.

Hey I am considering purchasing this case.

I am a little late for the FE, so for the SE... Are the links metal or clear? It looks to me that the:

Gun Metal: Clear Links
Silver: Clear Links

Black: Metal Links

Is this right? Can some one confirm? Thank you.
