nope,it didn't fix it, the screen just changed the greyscale to a "negative"

on another note, is there a way to uninsall the update?
 
well, I took my PB to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store, and they told me what had happened is during the update: the Universal Access preference for greyscale had been selected (which was interesting considering that I have not opened that preference menu since the first day I had the PB).

The two workers at the Genius bar told me that they had seen this on a few other computers after the update.

Sounds like Murphy's Law in action. If it can happen it will at some point. Happy to hear that you had a positive response at the Genius Bar.
