As far as I'm concerned, you probably already blew it.

Just say hi. Be yourself. Don't overthink it.

Just relax and talk to her like a friend. Overthinking it will make you look like a bit of a creep. So just chill.

Are there any women on here that can add to this mixed pot of advice? I know thats asking a lot. :D

Yeah. But you're not going to like it. I generally turn down, with prejudice, any guy who asks me on a date before knowing me well enough to be asking based on something besides looks. I mean, honestly, how is that not shallow?

Of course, I could be unusual.

Cheesy lines are OK, but they work better in a bar, where people expect to be flirting. Above all they MUST be delivered with confidence, charm, and the right mix of sincerity and humor. Not a lot of guys can pull that off.

I'd recommend starting with some small talk (that means weather, price of gas, is that brand of candy bar new?), and proceeding (over the course of days or weeks) to more personal chatter (did you get a haircut? how was your weekend?) once she recognizes you as a friendly face and is accustomed to speaking with you each time you see each other, and then some gentle flirting IF she seems receptive to the previous steps. Yes, that takes time and patience. Just don't expect to ask her out of the blue and get a "yes" unless she's desperate or has super low self-esteem.

And don't forget to a) relax, and b) smile!

Okay, first, remain calm. Cute girls can be frightening, but attacks are relatively rare. First off, just try to avoid her. If she stands on her hind legs and stares at you, it's more likely curiosity than a threat. Just keep your distance, particularly if she has cubs. Wave your arms around and talk. You just want the cute girl to understand you're a human being. If she continues getting closer, make louder noises, but never growl or squeal.

Try backing away slowly, but not directly backwards. If the cute girl follows, though, stand your ground. Whatever you do, do not run. This will make you appear as prey to the cute girl, and they can move surprisingly fast.

In the unlikely event you are attacked by a cute girl, ball up on the ground in a fetal position, protect your neck and head, and play dead. If the cute girl sees you as a threat, she will probably give up at this point, but wait until she moves well away to stand up. If she continues to attack after you play dead, then she probably sees you as prey and you should fight back as hard as you can, but I won't lie to you: you're probably going to die.

If for no other reason, she might think you're handing her a note telling her to quietly empty the register and put all the money in a paper bag.

You Sir, you made me truly "LOL" a rarity these days.

I'm too old to be asking these questions. ;) I am really that lame. :D To be fair I hardly ever ask women out even though I really want to so it all just down to me being a wuss. I went out with a girl not too long ago and I simply said do you fancy going out for a drink and she said yes. We dated for about a month. It was half set up via a friend at work as it was her friend so that doesnt really count as a 'direct' pull. Lol.

You've already answered your own question.

Asking her out by saying, "Do you fancy going out for a drink sometime?" would be the least weird way to ask her out.

Oh, and don't tell her what your screen-name is until at least the 6th or 7th date.

Get talking to her gradually. Crack a situational joke when you can, make a comment about the weather, compliment an item of clothing (nice shirt?), that sort of thing so you don't come off as a complete creep. Once that ice is cracked, then you could simply ask her out for a drink or something. You might find out odd things about her by talking to her that would give you an opportunity to meet her outside of work. If you can get to know her rather than her smile, you might find trivial things in common that open up a conversation.

Just go up to her and ask her. I did that to a cute girl at a cafe at the college I go to. I actually first asked her what her name is, and if she had a boyfriend. She replied "I have a husband!" and I was on my way. :)

Snort. Nicely done.

So eye contact is a definite no then? :D
Sounds like it. :D

Try just talking to her first before you ask her out maybe?
Sounds like a good idea to me.

Probably a good idea.

Then again, he could change his name to MacBoobsn00b. Just kidding. :D

crap, I totally got sucked into this. What happen? I think you should sneek a picture of this cute girl so we can see.
Even if it didn't work out I think we all want to know what went down. I'm bored at work nothing better to do.

this girl is turning into the main character of a "Truman Show"-like movie...haha. she has no idea we are all talking about her...all we need is pics and vids!!!!

WHERE IS THE OP!?!?!?

Go in with some minor thing you need help with, once you've got her attention, smile, look her in the eyes, and say "I know we don't know each other at all, but I think you have pretty eyes and I was wondering if you'd have dinner with me sometime."

Be direct.
.

This is way too direct. It is too early for such direct complements. I would remove this "pretty eyes" part and replace dinner with coffee. It is a lot more casual and less intimidating.

hey yeah i'm actually curious to see what this girl looks like, but don't get caught. I wonder what she'd think if she found out there was an entire thread devoted to her on macrumors with a bunch of people dying to hear the latest update lololol :p
