I'm about to sell my 2015 rmbp and 2015 rmb. I've fallen totally in love with my Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Surface 3. They are so superior to the Macs and Windows 10 is far more flexibile than OSX. As for the Surfaces, light, fast, touch screen, 2 in 1. Apple has fallen SO far behind. I know all the fan bois will attack me, but hey....

Unfortunately you lost all credibility with that last sentence. Why would you risk a 2015 profile credibility on a post with the last sentence where your only looking to get a negative reaction?

What exactly is a '2015 profile credibility'???????????????

His last statement is probably because that's exactly what happens if anyone has anything negative to say about the new machines....

This person registered on this forum Feb 2015. That last sentence is only looking for a reaction from people to post to their thread unfortunately this person wants negative reaction. It would have been better to leave out that last sentence.

So a registration date carries credibility? Odd but okay....

At any rate, I agree that last portion should have been left out BUT I also see why it was included as it's what happens here if someone has anything negative to say..

I mean seriously this was not need to know information (OP) that last sentence lost credibility in this users profile. There was no need to ask people to start an attack, makes no sense.

I've noticed these kinds of posts are common on gear forums. People decide to switch to a new camera, computer, gaming system, etc.. and instead of posting about it in a forum dedicated to the system they switched to (where it would likely receive a much warmer reception), they opt to declare it in a forum full of users and lovers of the gear they just ditched instead.

Anyway, I'm glad you're happy with your new Windows tablets. I fail to see how a Surface Pro is superior to my 2015 rMBP, but since I enjoy my MacBook, I'm not really concerned with how superior or inferior it is to the competition.

To the OP: Hey, enjoy getting some value from your used Macs at least...

Used Surface products, like most Windows based hardware, have a value right around "boat anchor at the bottom of the ocean with no line tied to it"

I'd have to disagree when it comes to the SP3 and 4. I see them selling second hand and they seem to be right on par with the MacBook and MacBook Pro. But yes, Windows machines typically tank.

I stand corrected...we shall see if those values continue that way over time for the surface products at least.

Just to get some perspective:

1. How long have you been a Mac user (Mac as primary computer)
2. Your age (don't need your exact age, age group would do)
3. Usage, what did you use your Macs for?
4. What model of Mac did you use, cpu etc. If quad core do you miss the performance vs surface book dual core?

Cheers

Mac user since the days of the Apple 2 -- the 80s -- so probably looong before many users on here. Went to Windows a couple times but always back to Mac, which should also give you some idea of age. I'm a writer, so that has always been my main use, along with research, etc, so never needed power. My Surface Pro 4 is the M3 model, and my Surface 3 is the atom 7. The former is superior to my rMB and I don't really see much difference with my rmbp for my use. The Surfaces are just superior in my opinion in terms of attributes and OS. And for a LOT less money. Bought the 4 on eBay bundled with everything, brand new with full warranty for $500 from someone who received another one as a gift. Same with the Surface 3, New, bundled, full msft warranty, $355. The Surfaces are considered the top 2-1. Read some reviews if interested, or Watch a couple of Youtube videos or try them out at a store. I'm not a msft stock holder, but do have appl stock. I'm far from being the first to make the move back to a windows machine from apple.
