Which can lead to all sorts of fun with the confusion between UK pants and American pants. If someone walks up to me and says "Nice pants" I get worried I've forgotten to finish dressing :D

See... these are the kind of things I need to know before I get over to London. :)

Another favorite, if I'm correct on it's definition, is "pissed." Means "drunk," right?

Yes, as can almost any other word in the correct context, including but not limited to wasted, hammered, wankered....

... gone, bombed, loaded, topped-off (careful using this one), plastered, ripped, wrecked, blitzed, hammered, smashed ...

This one drives me nuts: shattered
can mean
1) Drunk
2) Depressed
3) Tired

in coversation its pretty easy to pick up which meaning but in email and text messages not so much.

Ya, new for me too. I've never known it to mean more than broken, whether feelings or a window.

Well, we use a variation of "****" here in the US....twit. I often call idiots on the road, twits.
Twit is used over here, too – I don't think the origin of the word has anything to do with **** though, apart from the fact they sound similar.

It's a totally non offensive word, the sort of thing the vicar's wife might say if she gets a bit irate. Twit that is, not ****.

Well people from Massachusetts always use the word "wicked" meaning awesome.

Mass Person: "That Pahhhty was wicked"
Me: "What was it?"
Mass Person: "Wicked"

Some Connecticut Slang:
Package Store: Spirit Shop
Cocked: Drunk

"cocked," "slashed," and "rat arsed" (not sure I want to know what that is derived from) are new ones for drunk to me

Pissed = Drunk
Pissed Off = Angry, upset

Strictly speaking it is the same on both sides of the Atlantic, but recently USians have taken to dropping the "off" making it seem as if the slightest thing going wrong makes them drunk.

With regard to the Randies we have met; at our uni an American exchange student introduced himself to all and sundry thusly: "Hi! I'm Randy Pratt". He could never work out why everyone just burst out laughing, since nobody had the heart to explain to him.

How about Wratch (ra-tch) It means rummage or some such. I think its a really descriptive work...

"Have a wratch in that cupboard and see if you an find it"

Not very widely used but a good word people should use more!

HAHAHAHAHA. What an unfortunate name xD

Oh, another one: "Waffling on" "That was a whole load of waffle". It means "going" or "what a load of crap" in the context of either talking or writing.

So here's my question: is "waffle with syrup" an especially bad load of crap?
