With regard to the Randies we have met; at our uni an American exchange student introduced himself to all and sundry thusly: "Hi! I'm Randy Pratt". He could never work out why everyone just burst out laughing, since nobody had the heart to explain to him.

Oh dear. I hope someone told him eventually.

The Eskimos have over 40 words for snow... Yet we seem to have hundreds for being trolleyed/leathered/smashed/pissed/gone/pasted/toasted... :D

Put the 300 kilo tele in the lorrie chap

take the lift to the loo

Put a nappie on that child

Bonnet, Boot

My favorite British colloquialism is "the mut's nuts".

I would venture to say that most young Americans think **** is a vagina not an idiot.

Yes, lorry. ;)
Large truck…
Mind you if they were loading a telly it'd probably be into the back of a van — most likely white.

Ah, thanks. But then apparently a "telly" isn't a telephone as I originally thought.

A little known fact: the language with (by far) the most words for different sorts of snow is....

English.

I've always loved the phrase "going ballistic" - someone losing their temper.

The multiple uses of "piss" are always amusing:

Having a piss - urinating.
Taking the piss - to take advantage of someone.
Pulling the piss - Making fun of someone.
Pissed - very drunk/angry (US)
Pissed off - angry.
Piss-up - drinking session
Piss-artist - someone who takes the piss a lot.
Piss-ant - small, unimportant person (insult)
Pisstake - oddly means the act of pulling the piss.
Pissing - raining heavily.
Pissing on.. - treating someone or something with great disrespect.
Piece of piss - an easy task.
Pissing in the wind - futiley attempting a difficult (or self harming!) task.
