I see no point in having it. And for people that don't know it's an automatic default they probably think its really weird that someone would put that

Everything I have to say is always so insightful that the reader is so awestruck they miss my auto signature.

Would have been sent from my iPad if I was at home.

iPad signature

Now what I REALLY want is the ability to add different, custom signatures for each mail account. Having one signature for both my customers and my personal mail is far from ideal.

Why not. Nothing wrong in letting the receiver know that information.
Privacy freaks much?

Not for privacy reasons. I'm saying it is irrelevant information. If I am on my iPad I could very well be 10' from my desktop. It just happens the iPad was closer and I sent the e-mail. It's not like it's telling you where I am.

I keep on iPhone and iPad, since I want to let others known that I'm not on computer right now.

it just really depends. I always keep it on my devices bc sometimes i may reply with something shorter since i'm on a mobile device instead of regular email. I get emails from friends and family where i ask questions and they don't even respond correctly to the email and their response is....i was on my iPhone and was going to respond fully later.

Why would they care which device you're using? Just curious:). I removed mine because my family didn't want me to be an "i-douche" - their exact words. Oh, yeah, I am one anyway, signature or not.

Since I do web developer, part time. When a client is asking for something and I replay from iPhone this means I'm away from desktop. Just this. (honestly)

I delete it, when I reply to friends and family :)

First, it's there by default. I wouldn't set it by myself. Why should I change/remove it anyways?
Also, I like letting my friends know where I'm writing emails from. Where's the problem?

I'm not saying it's a problem. I'm asking what the point is.

Yeah, it lets people know that I'm on the go. Never thought of it as a form of showing off.

I have not changed my signature since I started using an iPad. I find it funny how some people find it offensive that I don't remove that sentence from my signature. So the question is: Do you use the default signature, or have you changed it to something else?

I changed it to something else, but I'm about to remove the signature line altogether.

Removed and replaced with my name and the name of my company!

I have no desire to advertise for Apple but from the looks of the equipment lists I see in these forums, no doubt many of you do!:p

Years ago I refused to buy a car that already had the dealer plaque mounted on it. I was buying the car to drive, not as a billboard for their business.

I feel the same way about "Sent from my iDevice." If Apple wants to pay me to advertise for them, I may reconsider.

I have it on there. It's like the old "sent from my Blackberry". I added AT&T to my iPhone, as the default on Verizon devices has Verizon in it, so I figured I should put AT&T on mine.

I'm not planning on using email on my iPad though, so I won't have the opportunity to set it up in the first place.

I took it off because my friends and coworkers already tease me about being addicted to my iPad, there's no need to give them more material. And for work-related communications, the fact that a message is coming from my home email lets them know I'm out of the office, yet still dedicated to my job :D

I use it.
It lets people know that I'm on the go.

Agreed. Also acts as a cover yourself in case you made a typo or autocorrect kicked in without you noticing. Whilst not necessarily the best particularly in business it still helps provide context to a reply. It also may explain a particularly abrupt or short email.

Changed to "Sent from my Blackberry device" in order to have uniformity across the board. :D

Also have bilingual disclaimer rider above that:

"The contents of this message may contain confidential and/or privileged
subject matter. If this message has been received in error, please contact
the sender and delete all copies..." yada yada...
