Confusing split

Just have to re-iterate I also disagree with the split, all of my questions apply for both MacBook and MacBook Pro, there is so little difference between them.

I think there are plenty of differences in the hardware (I guess less difference comparing the 13" MBP to the MB) but since they all run the same OS there are a lot of topics that cover them all (MBP, MB and MBA) but there is a Mac OS X forum: https://forums.macrumors.com/forums/69/

I guess any notebook specific questions that cover both MBP and MB should be posted in both forums. I don't really hang out in the MB forum so I would miss anything that covers the MBP as well.

Just to point out one thing, if you post the same thread in both forums, one will be deleted since double posting isn't allowed. If you have an issue that can cover both just post in the forum for the product you own. Most people don't own both.

I guess he was just concerned that if someone else would benefit from an answer in one forum they would miss it if they don't own that product (and you know a lot of people still have not heard of the search feature:rolleyes:)

If a question is not model specific, it should probably be posted in one of the following forums:

Mac OS X
Mac Basics and Help
Mac Applications and Mac App Store

I was going to mention the search feature as well. But also with the newer units and the like most of the problems will be in the first ten or so pages anyhow. Why not just look in the separate forums anyhow. I mean, who knowss you may learn something you didn't think of before.

I know I make a habit now to just read the various concerns other apple owners have so I can be prepared if and when that problem arises in my units.

Isn't that what Buying Tips and Advice is for? Or do you mean a more specialised one for Macs only, no accessories?

i was more thinking for Macs only - because i know that with the recent MBP upgrades (being so close to iMac performance) a LOT of people will be tossing up between iMac or MBP.

we run into the same problems with iMac vs Mac Pro, iMac vs Mac Mini - etc. but i guess that "Buying Tips and Advice" generically covers all of them.

Mods, can we please have a separate forum just for Macbook Pros with Glossy screens? As a glossy owner, I am accustomed to a higher class of conversation (no offense to you anti-glare owners of course.)

Numbers question

I'm new to this forum, so not sure how to initiate a question, other than clicking on "reply" to a thread.

How do you shade (or color) various cells in Numbers, in different colors?

I'm finding, Numbers not allowing me to do this. It colors them all the same color as my first selection. ei, if I color a cell "orange", & want another cell to be blue, it will color it "orange" instead, regardless of what color I selected.

Thanks.

Contact Apple and ask for replacement DVDs, which will include the OS installer on DVD 1 and the iLife installer on DVD 2, like the DVDs that came with your Mac.

Btw, how did you come upon this thread? Have you seen the post before yours, on how to create a new thread? Have you used the search (be it the www search or MR Forum search)?
