No. Why? The iMac forums were never split when the iMac dramatically changed. Same for every previous pro tower. Same for all the laptops.
When the PowerBook G4 came out and was dramatically different with different upgrade options, no one shoved the PowerBook G3 users off into their own forum.
Plus, any cMP forum is going to turn into a slowly dwindling wasteland in time (after years.) any forum created is already going to have an expiration date.
At some point down the line, I think I will agree with most of the posters here. At the present time, however, old and new Mac Pro users share a lot in common. For one, I expect that there is a lot of overlap between the users. I expect that most new Mac Pro users were former old Mac Pro users. Furthermore, although most of us don't care to contemplate the coming hit to our pocketbook, most of us old Mac Pro users will become new Mac Pro users in the next three or four years.
Here's the other thing: how Fun can the new Mac Pro be to talk about?
{user posts} my new Mac Pro stopped working!
{to which the universal reply becomes...} sorry man, better just go out and get a new one

The only thing shared in common is the marketing label and the OS
I would. No clue how.
No don't be daft - we're all still Mac Pro owners, regardless of case, orientation or colour!
Not really. It's only the same by name. It's like saying a 1978 ford f150 or corvette is the same as today's model. It's not the same computer.
Let's face it, if they keep them combined they might as well merge the Mac Mini forum in here as well.
