A statement like this presumes that quantity of traffic is the only reason one might split a forum.

And this is not likely to be a problem for separate Mac Pro forums for quite some time.

On the other hand, the documented frustration involved in sifting through all the old Mac Pro articles is making me (and presumably others) look elsewhere for new Mac Pro information and discussion. That should be of interest to MacRumors folks.

A.

Well let your frustration be known, and if there is enough feedback sharing your opinion then things may change. But since we're going on a year now with both models I don't think things are going to change. Honestly, it's not hard to wade through the forum.

It sucks. I own both types of Mac pros and it sucks both ways.

Traffic doesn't warrant it? If you know what the traffic actually is, you wouldn't've mentioned traffic

As a new owner of the tube Mac Pro & while researching on the tube Mac Pro - it was extremely frustrating to search for information as one inevitably gets led to either the desktop tower/box Mac Pro or just the Macbook Pro. For the future folks researching/searching - first of all - please split the two fora (forums). Secondly - it will be very Google search friendly if we start using a term like "tube" Mac Pro when referring to the tube/cylinder Mac Pro. Kudos to Anim for coming up with the term Box & Tube - wish Apple themselves were creative in the name for the tube Mac Pro.

nMP is no longer new - next iteration if Apple introduces something radically different - will we start using cMP for the current nMP?

:D aMP (<2012) -> oMP (2013) -> cMP (2015?) where:

a = ancient
o = old
c = current in 2015?

Ah, the old "we've always done it this way" reasoning. How unfortunate. :(

No, that's not how we think. When feedback is posted, it's almost always discussed, even if that means revisiting decisions that were made earlier. But sometimes we decide that the costs (in terms of time, forum bloat etc) outweigh the benefits. That doesn't mean that a particular change will never happen, it just means that it won't happen now.

"We've always done it this way" is never the reason for a decision here.

or they are trying to save themselves some work. This won't change unless you can get more support. I would like to join a different forum but would hate to lose the expert advice offered here. Maybe you should take a poll?

No, our workload in this particular case is a minor consideration.

Seriously unlikely. Apparently the mods on this forum don't care about the users much.

No, that's not the case at all. If it were, we wouldn't bother discussing suggestions at all.

Since the moderators all volunteer their time, and since much of what they do is not terribly sexy or visible but they do it anyway because they care about the site, I would say that claiming they don't care about the members is a slap in the face for all they do.
