The base SS has come back in stock for pick up at many Apple stores this morning. Hopefully, if my theory aligns that Apple stores get them about 12-24hrs before the 3rd party sellers, that means JL should have more SS stock this evening! *crosses fingers*

Depends which model you checked, they have no series 2 in space grey 42mm with black woven strap.

yep the model that I want is at the Bath retail store. Tempted to cancel my online order and pick it up from there

Advice required! Guys, as you may know I've placed an order with John Lewis (collection tomorrow or Friday) and it obviously comes with a 2 year guarantee. Despite this I'm still thinking of going straight from JL to Apple to take out Apple Care+ - advisable?
Ah, because logic would be that we check for an alternative to what the person is looking for.... anyway doesn't matter, they don't have the one I'm after and I'm not crazy enough to pay an additional £50 upfront so I can get the watch and then the band I wanted.
I have never taken out AppleCare except on my MacBook and never needed it but I tend to renew ios products annually where possible. I guess it depends on how likely you are to have an accident. My Series 0 SS AW was very study and no issues despite a few knocks. It was mint when I sold it on last week.
Just cancelled my order for a SS42 AW with sport band and reserved for pick up at the Bath store so will do that straight after work
Cheers, I usually take great care of my tech but thought that as this will be used a lot for training it might be worth getting that extra peace of mind! I'd hate for something to happen with it - at least this way I have two options apple and JL!

Anyone actually ordered a S2 watch from Argos and had one turn up. Seems to me they have loads of orders and never had any watches. Currys and JL plus Apple keep getting watches but Argos nothing. And cuts services no info. I ordered 42mm space grey with woven band

Picked up my SS 42 Sport from the Apple store in Bath. Only took 10 minutes to pair and restore from the backup. Really quick watch. Very pleased.

Quick roundup after 7 hours - not totally applicable to this topic but for those still waiting or waiting to decide.....had aluminium grey 42 version one - live in Portugal but was in UK for a wedding last weekend and once landed on Friday lunchtime I realised that there was no chance of getting a new watch. Typically as I left on Monday, I could see supplies coming through! Anyway, ordered yesterday and picked up in store today at FNAC and treated myself to a stainless steel 42 (only one they had in stock) and it looks great with the link bracelet I got off Amazon and had used with last watch. Love the heavier feel, 20g more, as more akin to my Explorer. Don't notice the 1mm extra thickness. Was on 78% battery out of the box - paired + loaded apps + 250 photos and 120 tracks synced. Obviously been fiddling - mainly since other watch was nicked by the wife and I tolerated this for the simple reason that I could now get hold of her rather than her miss every call and message from everyone, as her phone was always buried at the bottom of her handbag! So, nice to get the hang of the watch again and all the great features of os3 - bit of siri and texting + Messenger and a bit of Maps etc etc and now on 58% which is very good after such much work.
