My Apple order is now coming on Thursday which would be 8 days earlier than the estimate, if they had updated things I probably wouldn't have bothered with the Currys order.

Either way its on my wrist at the moment and its better than I expected it to be!!

Guys Apple stores in Bristol and cribs area has space gray I have just reserved a Series 2 42

Thanks for saying about in store pickups!
Just checked my closest one and they now have the exact one I had on order that was showing Oct 18 - Oct 31.

Cancelled that and reserved one for in store collection instead :)

When you do an watch pickup from Apple do you pay online before you pick it up or can you pay when you pick it up?

You sending apple one back sealed? Don't suppose you can return to Curry's now?

I'm probably going to add AppleCare to mine so will take the watch back into a store and get the Currys watch added onto AppleCare.

Unfortunate that it wasn't a day later otherwise I would have cancelled the Apple order, good it came so quickly for so many others though but a shame the estimate was so far out.

What are you guys planning to do with your old original Apple watches?

It is nye impossible to sell imo

Had mine in gumtree for £150 no takers , 38mm ss

Can't justify this 42mm ss series two for £599

Just installed os3 onto 1st gen and the performance is nearly identical.

I might just buy a cheap 42mm gen1 as it's mainly the larger size I'm after

That's what has put me off buying the SS for my first AW watch - no one seems to want to pay anything close to what people would hand out brand new so for a two year watch it ends up being very expensive. Shame.

Always buy the lowest end model to begin with until they start staggering the models. We all know what Apple are like they get you hooked and suck you dry and we love it!

God damn it Cardiff now has stock of the space gray, going to cribs tomorrow to collect mine when im in Cardiff lol.
Lol

John Lewis just got a whole bunch back in stock, but frustratingly not the one I want! (SS 42MM White Strap)

Yep that's what I am waiting for. No movement on mine from Apple - still 30/09. My 7 plus arrived 5 days early. Even the Americans are having problems getting that spec. I am wondering if they limited production of the SS based on 1st gen sales as the sports seem to be moving nicely

Slightly off topic if I may, but I got a couple of Moko sport bands from Amazon for £6 a piece and they're great. Also got an Orzly clip on screen protector but due to the slightly thicker s2 it doesn't fit properly and the edge of the cut out stops the crown turning! Anyone got any tips for screen protectors, if indeed you think them necessary?

Maybe, although I sort of worked out that the 3rd party retailers aren't only getting stock back once Apple have that stock in their main stores (for example, JL is stocking 42mm SS with Milanese strap and black 42mm SS with sports strap, and has plenty of them, but Apple don't have any in their main branches for pickup).

Oh well, one can only hope that there will suddenly be a massive influx of them (although whether John Lewis have more than 1 delivery per week is another matter...)

Just checked and unfortunately no Series 2 available up north :(

I just placed an order for the 42mm space grey aluminium (although I would have preferred they launch a matte black to match the new iPhone) delivery but my expected delivery time is between Oct 20th & Nov 3rd so I'll keep checking the website in case something shows up sooner :)

I was tempted with the SS as it does look much nicer but after buying a Samsung Gear S2 Classic less than a year ago and only fetching under half its initial cost when selling it this month I just couldn't part with £600 for a watch that might only see a few years before it's replaced/upgraded.

Currys have failed me unfortunately so I've requested a cancellation. Check Apple and no stock in Cardiff however I then checked John Lewis online and they had more than 10 of the (white/silver) 42mm in stock. Order placed with John Lewis!
