Just got an update on my order for pick up saying it is confirming store inventory. Sounds questionable. Still shows Friday estimated pick up date. I ordered at 2:02am central with acknowledgement at 2:12am.
 
I ordered 38 black ss on Sunday. Still shows oct 11 as start of expected in store. Hoping it arrives earlier. Att didn’t offer this model on their website so I jumped at Best Buy’s when I saw it.
 
So I preordered my watch early on 9/15 when it showed some watches slipping several weeks. The model I wanted was still available for in store pickup on 9/22. I jumped on it and got confirmation for in store pick up on 9/22. While I’ve never preordered from Best Buy before, they have been a secret little gem on getting some stock on the day of an Apple release. Is there any reason, I won’t be able to pick up on 9/22? I specifically didn’t have it shipped as I heard the debacle with the delays of the iPhone 7, but I would think that my local Best Buy would get at least some models in.

Let me know what people think as I’m trying to decide if I need to head to an Apple store early.
 
Still haven't seen any movement. Says processing and estimated delivery date of Friday 22nd. Not sure its gonna happen though.
 
I work at Best Buy and as far as I know, with in-store pickups there won't be any movement until the night before should the store receive your item. This probably depends on the store though. You'd then get an email saying it'll be ready for pickup the next day, or even an email the day of if it actually arrived.

If the morning starts, and you still haven't gotten an email then your item simply hasn't made it to the store yet. Please don't call a million times and ask where your watch is, and how much longer it will be (I was this customer years ago), we really don't know the answer to your questions as much as we would love to answer them. Do know that as soon as the SKU you ordered comes in, and you're next in line on the list for that SKU, a sticker gets put on it ASAP with your name and it cannot be sold to anyone or skipped for the next person in line. Our system doesn't work that way.

On the day of release it's still VERY possible that it will arrive on a drop shipment. I've seen this happen for big releases, and it just happened for the Note 8 launch. We had a customer who didn't get their specific phone the morning of the launch, but his device came in later on in the afternoon with a random shipment of phones.

I think the company just revamped their timing system, (we did for in-store pre-orders at least) and it's waaaay more accurate now. I think they learned from the S2 launch, but only time will tell.

I pre-ordered a S3 SB 42mm watch for in-store pickup too! I really hope mine comes in, and I have high hopes it will! I can't wait to see all the excited customers too coming in for their phones and watches!

Update: Just checked my account and there has been a credit charge against my account on my pickup order. Otherwise there is no change in status or notification.

Finally got my iPhone 8 plus notification for my wife from an Apple purchase. I think it was probably out of the on-site pre-positioned inventory before the launch because it never shows any movement outside of the originating location.
 
Happy everybody is seeing movement! Still no movement on mine but I'm sure I'll see something soon.
 
Sold my Apple Watch Series 0 last night and just ordered AWS3 GPS only 42mm Space Gray with Black Sport band for pick up at one of the local Best Buys around me for tomorrow the 22nd. I hope they hold to their promise of the 22nd!! I feel naked without the watch on my arm!!

I added AppleCare to my silver aluminum GPS+cell sports loop this week and have the following update:
Status: Ready for Pickup on Fri, Sep 22

I didn't add AppleCare to the gold aluminum GPS+cell and have the following update:
Status: Pre-ordered

For the order, I have the following at the top:
Order Status: Ready for Pickup on Fri, Sep 22
3 items
(This includes the AppleCare)
 
I’m still waiting for any notification for my watch — I originally got a October date but then received an email saying that my estimated date is 9/22 so I still have hope!! Best Buy customer support has been dreadful.
