I had the same hope! But no local stores have any so I placed my order on 11/7 and it SAID it would be ready by 11/29. Merry Early Christmas to me from my hubby!
I ordered mine 10/16 through Verizon.It suppose to ship out by 10/14. Today is the 13th so I'm interested to see if it'll ship tomorrow.
It just blows my mind that it’s taking a month from when they are ordered until the time they are actually in the purchasers hand! It’s crazy!
I don’t blame you! I’m having mine delivered to the store for pickup so I don’t have to worry about possible theft if I’m not home during the delivery window. But they sure don’t seem to be cranking them out very fast!
The wait depends on the model you are getting. If you are going after the aluminum one I’ve seen several Apple Stores have them in stock. If you’re like me and want the stainless steel that is where the waiting and delayed shipping comes in. In that case Apple doesn’t charge your card until the watch is preparing to be shipped. Which SHOULD mean you would get it within the week. I’m assuming the Apple care begins when you are charged or when you take delivery of the watch.
UPDATE: Got home last night around 11pm and my package was thankfully still outside at my front door. Luckily it gets dark hella early now so it was safe and sound. LOL! I'll post pics in the "Show off your AW" thread asap.
Today I went to the store in Paris for a problem with my iPad and as I was early for my genius appointment,I looked at the new series 4.
I asked when they would be available and was answered that there was some in stock !! I came home with an aluminum 40 in silver , the same as my series 0. I didn’t get much for my old one but it was better than nothing...

So cool! Yes, the aluminum ones are in stock. The stainless steel ones are not. Finding one of those in the store is like trying to find a unicorn
I must say I didn’t even ask about the stainless steel as I was very happy with my previous aluminum. I nearly changed for black then remembered that I had the Milanese loop in silver which would have been ugly with a black watch.
When I looked a few days ago they were not available for pickup on the website.

So I didn't preorder, I ordered on October 30th. It shipped this Monday, and since then UPS has been doing what UPS does.
On Monday, it was estimated to arrive on Thursday the 15th (today).
On Tuesday it said delivery date unknown, then later delayed due to a mechanical failure.
On Wednesday it said delivery on Thursday the 15th again, but it left Incheon late last night so I figured there's no way it'll get here in time for a Thursday delivery. Planes just don't fly fast enough.
Today, Thursday, it says "A mechanical failure has caused a delay" again and there's no estimate.
So two mechanical failures, or are they still quoting the first one as the reason for the delay? And I would figure that UPS should know how long it takes them to get a package from one place to another, yet they were still showing an impossible delivery date late last night.
Hopefully I'll get it tomorrow. No hurry other than my excitement for my first Apple Watch. Just amazed how bad the UPS tracking is.

Similar situation for me. Ordered SS Gold through AT&T on Oct 14. Still shows in process.

I monitored iStockNow over the last weeks, and there ist nothing in stock at all. At least in Europe or Germany.

anyone recently order one through t-mobile? ordered a 40mm space black on the 12th, says expected shipping by 14th but no updates yet (and nothing in myups).
Yeah I ended up calling Verizon and was on there for a good 40 minutes. They're looking into and they are in the process of putting a ticket in. They said they'll call me back in about two hours. I'm okay with waiting but also...I would like to know what's going on with my order.
