electronic gadgets are a GREAT gift if WE (sounds like you're much like me) are the givers and people like your in-laws are the receivers...
My dad doesn't have to worry about reading nerdy stuff online or keeping up with the latest specs... he can just call me and say "what _______ should I buy" and I tell him. (of course he takes that information and sits on it for 2 weeks... compares it to something he sees on TV that is totally unrelated, forgets what I told him, then goes to best buy and pays out the b-hole for something inferior to what I recommended but it's all good)
You know whats funny is I was coming back here to check the threads and the very router I was badmouthing started acting up and took me about ten minutes to get it going again. Like I said the surprise part always screws you. My wife got me a Kindle Fire for xmas but it was because I researched and told her specifically I wanted it. Had she sprung it on me I might not have been as receptive.
