Going on 4 hours now trying to get Verizon to activate my watch. Just pathetic.

Still not activated....Just getting transferred to or hung up on by one moron after another.

What’s your specific situation? Biz account? National account? What type/name of plan? Do they say something has changed from yesterday and you should be able to do it? Thanks in advance for helping us all out.

Normal single line plan, although it was an old plan so after the first failure to activate they figured out eventually that I had to upgrade my plan to a current one. Fine....done, and even saved me $5 a month. So after that change, they were able to give me a phone number for my watch. They said it should be activated within 15 minutes. 1 hour later nothing, so I called back, asked for Tech Support, and got CS after a 20 minute wait. Only, I didnt know it was CS until he wasted my time for 20 more minutes and then wanted to send me to Tech Support. Tech Support, mumbling something about getting in touch with Apple, put me on hold for 20 minutes and never came back.

I called again, started with CS all over again even though I begged for Tier 2 Tech Support. 20 minutes later after failing to get it to work she finally gives me to Tier 2, who seemed to know LESS than Tier 1. She tried to take me through the steps of pairing the watch to the phone, which I had done 4 hours earlier. She finally convinced me to unpair and re-pair the watch, causing me to lose all my credit cards stored for Apple Pay. Nothing changed since unpairing and re-pairing.....under Cellular is says “No SIM” under Plan, and “No Connection” under Status. Under the About screen it shows “Not Available” under Carrier, and under the ICCID it says “No SIM”.

The same problems just like everyone else with the LTE Apple Watch. I spent Friday night on the phone with them also with Apple customer care and nobody knew what they were doing in this morning they're telling me that I had to submit a ticket and then the watch will activate by it self. No I just tried to activate again using the app on the iPhone and it got me all the way to switch numbers and it says device can I be added. If anybody has any other suggestions of how to make it work please let me know thanks in advance

K so I've finally got LTE working. What needed to happen is:

1. Setup Apple Watch LTE, grab the IMEI
2. Factory reset Apple Watch to dissociate it from Verizon's system
3. Call in and give the service rep the IMEI so they can manually add the line into your account
4. Setup Apple Watch again. You'll find the watch automatically provisioned with the service line.

Do you have a business plan?

I’m not sure anyone’s heard the same story from them twice. I find that very frustrating as general situation. What works for one person doesn’t seem to work for another and their explanations don’t match up. Massive incompetence and constant lies.

anyone else having issues

Verizon support flat out told me my current plan cannot be used to work with the Watch. I have an unlimited data plan, with a discount because of my employer. I’ll have a chat with them in person at the local store, but will probably just move to AT&T.

I had the no sim issue like many...

I ended up calling Verizon and giving them my IMEI number. They associated it with a new line on my plan ($10 plan for Apple Watch) and gave it it's own phone number but calling my normal iPhone number will call the watch. They said they have to give it a new number no matter what but it won't actually be used.

It still didn't work after talking to them. I did a factory reset and restored from a cloud save again and got it working after that. The difference was that during setup it instantly said "Celluar Activated" through the Apple Watch setup while prior it said I needed to associate my watch to my account (which didn't work prior).

Yay! :)

I finally think I have mine working on my business plan. I read others having luck afternoon doing a factory reset. I did that late last night and let the watch sit over night. Powered it off this morning and called VZW- they added a line to my business plan with the IMEI only.

NumberShare is not compatible with business unlimited or flex share plans. Now THIS is ridiculous. Had to move to a 16GB stand-alone plan at $90/mo for my Line to make this work. I’ll complain to my BAE later... Apple and VZW totally dropped the ball with making sure everything was ready to roll for this launch. There’s no reason why those plans should be incompatible.

The rep said to give it 1-3 hours to activate and to keep power cycling the watch. I can see the watch as a new line on my account, so I think I may be in business. We will see.

I gave up on Verizon because I’m unwilling to give up my gUDP for the watch.

As an experiment I put a tmobile sim in my phone and went through the watch setup. It worked perfectly. I then put my Verizon sim back in, and on the watch app on the phone it showed an “unused tmobile plan”, but the watch itself was disconnected. I was hoping I might still be able to keep the watch paired with my phone with a Verizon sim, and the watch would use tmobile for LTE. I thought perhaps outbound phone and data would work. Inbound phone and SMS of course wouldn’t. Unfortunately it appears when the phone/watch detect that the watch plan is not the same carrier as the phone it disables.

All I want to do is give VZW $10/mo for what will end up being 50 mb of data at the most. I don’t know if it’s their billing system or their own rules that are getting in the way, but it’s annoying as hell.

This worked for me as well. I made them get rid of the line they gave me Saturday, and start over by manually adding the IMEI back to my account. It generated a new number that was properly associated with my iPhone number this time, and then I set up the watch from scratch. Worked immediately this time around.

You have to call Telesales, not CS or Tech Support, because allegedly only Telesales can delete and add lines.

Yes I’m on our company account and can’t set up. Says that can’t do sharing on government accounts. But we are not government account, on phone now with Verizon. Sounds like an on going issue. Sounds like a mess
Could not activate my AW3 with a phone on a business account.

I agree, it is incredibly frustrating! I'm on a government account and have full authorization to make changes to my companies account....and still I can't get them to modify the ONE LINE on my account to switch to a plan that supports numbershare! It's driving me nuts!

So you know we have a business line with unlimited plan and I was able to get the apple watch working on the line. Don't let them lie to you because it does work. The only thing that doesn't work for me is text forwarding from a non-imessage but everything else works perfectly.

How were you able to activate NumberShare (Verizon's form of multidevice numbersharing)? My understanding is they have yet to enable this for business accounts. Or do you have a personal small biz account that you have control over?

I think they're definitely still ironing things out. This morning they told me that NumberShare wasn't compatible with Business Unlimited or Flex plans. I sucked it up because I figured they'd work it out. I saw hyeung01 above said that it was possible. On hold with a rep now and explained all five versions of what I can/can't do that I've been told by reps so far (no exaggeration). Checked with a manager and they said that the unlimited plan is compatible now, so she's giving it a shot. She also said the manager said there were bugs in their system at first preventing it but that supposedly it's all been resolved now.

Crossing my fingers and will report back.

I got my watch on Friday. I didn't even buy it from Verizon, got it from Bestbuy and I call our business support line. We have 30 unlimited lines enterprises from Verizon ( 3 accounts) . The support lady just activated for me and when I log into my verizon account, I see the line, it has a different number but I get imessage, email and phone call on it no problem. This is just base on my experience.

Also, I believe on the personal line, you get like 3 months free but in the business, she refuses to do it. I'm just happy it works. Last, after I go the watch working, I switch to a Note 8 and it doesn't work even though apple said it should work. so I switch back to an iPhone again. Not sure if it a Verizon thing but the forwarding text still doesn't work and Apple level 2 support said it should work, they suppose to call me back today but they didn't.

Yeah... I'm sure it helps when the 'business' account is a quasi-consumer plan with 10-30 lines and you have direct account access to manage. If the business account is enterprise level with hundreds or thousands of lines in a fleet and managed by an IT mobile department, it may be another hurdle. Hope I am able to use as well.
