The person at add a new line had to get a supervisor. After that, I am sorry - I am not sure how they did it - he came back on the phone and said good news - they had figured it out and it would take a couple of minutes.

@Farrellcollie thanks for the help. Finally after half a day and 6 reps and tech help etc.... I was able to use your thread comments while on the phone with Verizon and I am now up and running.... what a mess. MUCH APPRECIATED.

I was unable to activate cellular on mine despite many attempts. After giving it some thought, I went into cellular settings for the phone itself, then "cellular data options", then "Enable LTE", and changed the setting from "Data Only" to "Voice & Data". Went back to cellular settings for the watch, bam!, activated watch cellular.

Glad you finally got it working. It was an ordeal. I spent much of the whole day with verizon

Mine will still not activate. I’ve spoken to 3 different reps with all sorts of stories. The last one was the most clued and said there is still an issue between Verizon and Apple and it’s actively being worked on. It seems perhaps that watches bought directly from Apple may be having the problem, vs watches bought from VZW. Who knows.

check out this other thread I got mine working. Verizon is having problems setting up the right amounts and Apple seems to having server problems not accepting activation requests.

I think it's the esim card. Verizon needs a sim card number to activate the account and Apple issues the esim card number at activation. This is just my opinion but seems to make sense since verizon kept asking for the ICCID number (SIMCARD).
I tried turn both phone and watch off and restarting. It finally connected after I unpaired the Apple watch and repaired it. But it failed on the first try on the repairing startup but I entered my id and password again and it went through. Don't know if this fixed or enough time past that Verizon fixed it on their end.

Now the is a number in the ICCID spot in the About on the apple watch instead of a --

That was one of the many stories I was told. Finally the add a new line team (escalated up to supervisor) worked for me on the watch I ordered from apple.

Okay, I spent all day on the phone with Verizon, and just now, after two hours, I am up and running. I was told that the issue Verizon is having is with watches per-ordered through Verizon. I ordered mine through Apple, but my problem was some how related to Verizon putting the watch on my account twice. After they corrected the issue, it activated right away and I was then told about the issue with the Verizon per-orders.

I also started playing around with everything to make sure everything worked while I had them on the line and learned this:

Phone calls and iMessage will work independent from the phone, SMS will not. I was told this is Apple and not Verizon. I am wondering if anyone else can confirm this?

I have also noticed that when I am using LTE and the Explorer watch face, the signal strength indicator on the watch face disappears as soon as the watch connects to LET. Any one else seeing this?

If you buy from Apple... do you get the waived activation and 3 free months when you activate?

Well - I just had cellular drop a couple of times and restarted the watch - but on my test by walking up the street from my house and using my android phone on mint sim - I could text and receive from the watch. It was slow - but the messages did come through.

Verizon told me the activation fee was waived even if bought from apple

So, the Watch does work with SMS and connected to LTE only??

I am a government account and it's a real shame. I hope Verizon switches its stance on this because there are many out there who have it worked out with their employer to use their iPhones for personal use.

I was also told you couldn't do this on business accounts. Please report back. I am very interested to know if they let you.

I have a national account and was told too that I cannot add my LTE watch because numbershare isn’t an option. It’s not even something they could add as a courtesy because, a manager on the phone told me, it’s not possible.

Are you on a business plan? I am and I’m having zero luck.
Have you figured anything out here? I am in the same boat.

I can’t bonestly believe that it’s not possible. I think they are not 100% ready for the Watch and cellular accessories. I know android has been doing it for a little while, but the volume of customers using that compared to Apple is vastly different. That’s just my opinion.

Verizon business account here. I spent some time on the phone, even with a manager. They took my IMEI number was told he would work on it, calling me back later. Well, no call, and of course no LTE on my watch. If I go into the Watch app and try to activate it it just says "Sorry, you can't use NumberShare on your current Verizon plan." OK, so just add it. I don't know what the hang up is.

No I was on the single line plan and had to change to a shared line plan

I’m on the Verizon Business single line flex plan. I tried again today to add the lte watch and was told it is not possible. My company is large and we would have to, as a company, change to different plans, I’ve been told twice by different Verizon call takers.

That will never happen.

I have resigned myself to the fact that I cannot have an lte watch.

It is crazy how hard they’re making it for people to hand them money With the stupid rules they have in place that don’t seem to make any sense
