Forgive me, but the notion that bringing attention to a company's negligence on the web is "childish" or ill-fated is ignorant and delusional. We have all borne witness to the power that technology and social media have in disseminating information, illuminating the unknown, and creating a democratic space. The consumer today is more empowered than ever and, to put it ineloquently, businesses cannot pull the **** they have previously gotten away with. Look at a blog like The Consumerist and tell me "putting a company on blast" is a fruitless endeavor.
Sorry for going on a tangent, but I've noticed a hive mind of consumer blaming and delegitimization here that is absolutely bizarre. Yes, I feel the OP was too dramatic in conveying their experience, but at the core of the post is a frustration we have all had with a company at one time or another.
