The cases look the same. They are the same style. About what are you talking?

Asked and answered a few posts above. They do not look the same. SGP doesn't cover the bezel, seidio does. Re-read the thread.

Mine (white) should be arriving today or tomorrow. I will try to post some pics...

Received my case today.

Here are some impressions:

I love the feel and the look. Very minimal. All this case adds is some needed grip and preventing some scratches on the back. It does NOT protect the chrome bezel - that's what I wanted, that's the hottest part of the phone IMO, and if it gets scratched so be it.

The logo protector is tricky to install, and has the "orange peel" look to it - it states on the package that this is the same stuff the SGP shield is made of. If that's the case, I MUCH prefer the PS crystal shield for ease of install, look, clarity, and feel.

Overall, I give the case a 9/10 - there are some minor design flaws like a bit of extra plastic on the edges that hasn't been shaved off, but the feel and minimalism is perfect. I'll be retiring my incipio gel skin that I got the day of launch.

I give the logo protector a 5/10. It looks like crap, but will do the job. If I hate it after a while I may just go naked for the logo. Good idea, awful execution.

Here are some pics - sorry for the quality, I didn't have time to figure out all the settings on my camera.

I received mine today also, I purchased a blue one. I love the look and feel of it, it really makes the phone easier to grip. I'm coming from a Griffin Elan Form, so this is a huge difference for me. The blue is nowhere near as sharp as the website, which is good - it's a navy look. I seriously dislike the logo cover, but it'll work for now. It looks way too much like there's a lot of dust under it ... I might consider getting something cheap to put over it instead, but I'll need to look around.

well unless you got tons of junk on it while you put it on it will "clear up" in a few days, mine did and you can hardly tell its on. Either way i think you could do with a piece of clear thin packing tape.
I'm currently awaiting my black replacement because the coating peels off. I was wondering if anyone can share how other colors are holding up. I was almost thinking of getting the clear one too but i sort of hate the look of the clear edges, makes it look like thick glasses.

** i just noticed they added a bunch of new colors and leather ones.

Man, that pisses me off - I would have purchased the Carbon Fiber instead of the blue if it had been available. Oh well, I'll get one in a month >=)

So what, they are pretty cool cases, I mean it was only $12. The carbon does look nice. :apple:

The orange leather looks like a basketball almost.

I agree with the 9/10 for the case. I don't see any design flaws like extra plastic on the edges or so.. (just rechecked now). Infact, I love the perfectionism, and feel of its design. It is so nicely curved to contour of the iPhone that it just enhances its elegance. I however think it would have looked more elegant if they would have avoided the SGP STORE in CAPS at the bottom.

I disagree with the 5/10 for the logo protector. If you give it a couple of days, the bubbles disappear, and the glossiness becomes more evident. I like the slight grip of the logo as well. This helps me function very efficiently: When I get a call, I am able to whip out the iPhone from my DLO Hipcase, and while my index finger subconsciously feels for the logo area thereby orienting me to identify where the top and the bottom of the iPhone is, my thumb swipes the slider (again sort-of subconsciously) enabling me to answer the call in less than a second (or so). If I know the caller (dependent on the ringtone), I don't even need to look at the iPhone. If I don't know the caller, a cursory glance is all that is needed in the process of answering/ignoring. I feel that I can afford to be a bit more careless with my handling of the iPhone because I am more confident that the grip and feel of the SGP case and logo material will prevent it from slipping of my fingers. I don't think a plastic shiny logo protection would provide me with similar confidence. I give the logo protection a 8/10. They can enhance on its look a bit more, but not too much to lose its utility.

That's not true. It's not the same stuff that the SGP crystal shield is made of. Compared to the PS crystal shield, the SGP screen shield has a much better feel, optical enhancement and glossiness. I have tried 3 PS crystal shield installs, and for me, all 3 were minutely off-centered, and required me to take out and reinstall. (I'm a perfectionist). Furthermore, after install, PS crystal shields had this uneasy feel on top of the shield that took about 3-5 days to wear off. SGP crystal shields were good from get go. First install was right on-centered, and had no feel issues, infact it felt like glass.

A funny thing though. After I installed the SGP crystal shield, I noticed that there were scratches on top of the shield, and I got furious, only to realize that those scratches were from the vinyl cover on top of the shield. They actually have vinyls on BOTH sides of the shield. Take off the vinyl after installing, and you're good to go. I later found out that others also had the same issue and had not realized that the vinyl was on both sides, because the SGP store came out with a red-tip message on its website about taking out the vinyl from both sides.

Good to know. As I said it's written like that on the packaging. I am going to wait a few days and see if the bubbles and stuff smooth out, and then I'll update my review.

Glad to hear other people love this case!

Love the way the SGP case fits, but after 24 hrs of use...yes 24 hrs...it looks like crap.

It looks like dirt, but wont clean. I noticed a few specks last night, woke up, drove to work and seriously was shocked at what I saw below, its as if its spreading.

E-mailed SGP early this morning so will report back.

I think you're both sort of right and both sort of wrong. It's the same stuff the "shield" is made of. They make a IS/BSE/Bodyguardz alternative type product for the back of the phone called the "SGP Shield" - their back film comes with the optical enhancement film (the PS alternative) for the FRONT of the phone only.

My guess is that the logo protector is made of the same material they use for the back shield part, which, IMO, is the best of those products available on the market. I'm surprised that the OP thought it had an orange-peel look to it, b/c the one i have on my phone is perfectly clear and smooth. It's waaaaay better than IS and BSE, and a lot thinner than the bodyguardz.

update...bad news. Sounds like after 40 minutes in my jean pocket it caused the stains and its not covered under warranty.

They are not new jeans by any means but whatever. Dissapointed in that they did not mention this on the web site prior to purchase, or if its there I missed it. While the stain is not blue at all when the SGP rep threw it out at me clearly Im not the only one who has reported it.

Cant recommend this product (in white anyways) if it looks like crap after being in your pocket for a while. Literally this is 40 minutes during my commute and it looks like that vs. just a wee bit I noticed last night, amazing.

Sorry to hear that:(
yeah you need to consider when you buy something white, especially if you wear jeans normally.
i never ever buy white shoes, especially fabric made like convers.

Yeah that makes much more sense, my mistake. I will say though, that after about 3 full days, while some of the "bubbles" have come out, it still has a look like dust is trapped under, and still has an orange peel look to it. That said, it is only noticeable in bright light and up close, so I am pretty happy overall. But that is why I wanted a case and not a shield to begin with, because none of them will look flawless like I want. I'll give the logo protection a 7/10 now, but that's about it.

By the way, this is not an application issue. I have a PS crystal shield on the front that I installed in literally less than 60 seconds completely flawlessly. I am a surgeon by trade and trust my hands ;-)

I am sorry to hear about the jeans issue. I am wearing jeans today, and will see what happens. No problems with scrubs or khakis during the week...

Suggestion: try rubbing alcohol using soft cotton balls. see if it works. My 2 yr old son drew a big mess on my white leather chair using a ball pen, and thanks to the alcohol it's slowly coming off.

I can also confirm some staining at the corners after a half day in my scrubs pocket... I'll try the alcohol method tonight...

Oh, try also nail polish remover.
I used to work as an intern from a fabric dyeing lab, and i used white plastic kind of stick to mix up colors and inks that used on fabrics and i used acetone to clean those sticks.
i should say not all stains removed but if the stain is not that old, acetone could remove mostly...

i bet the stain is the color rubbing off on the rubber coating not the plastic. If you use anything harsh it will remove the coating also.

the fiber one i dont ever recall being in stock so maybe it never available.

I really like my replacement black they sent me, no peeling/flaking and just feels good in the hand. I suspect the rubber coating was not used on these however now it slides in and out of my folio much easier. The best $12 i spend protecting any phone i have had.

This is a great case. Period. One for the first words out of my mouth after I put it on my iphone was "wow". This is not a case for rough use however. If you are looking for a case that will protect your iphone under heavy use then you should probably look elsewhere. I agree with some other posters that said this case actually enhances the look of the phone.

I will be buying the other colors as well....the red will look nice!

anybody have picture of this case red and blue on black iphone? Can't decide what color to get. I already have black and white cases want something flashier.

Would love to get the carbon fiber but the site doesn't seen to show that that color exist
