They compiled a list of stores from this thread.

I don't know if this will help, but this is straight from Apple Support Chat, a few mins ago:

"So far there is no updated information on when the Apple Pencil will be available in different areas. What I can do for you is provide you with the number to your closest store location and they should be able to tell you when they will receive their stock of Apple Pencils available for sale."

Hopeful, but I imagine it also has a lot to do with how knowledgeable/cool the person is that answers the phone.

I'm also in OKC. Talked with a manager in store after they had received their shipment. ~1pm CST. He said they didn't receive any pencils or keyboards for iPP. They did say that because of my business account that I could enter a concierge request and they would call me when they received any in stock and took down all my contact info. I'd be happy to let you know when they do if you want to send me a direct message.

Picked up the last one in Orland Park, IL today. They got their shipment at 5:30PM or so. 16 Pencils were received, all were gone within a half hour, according to the employee. I just showed up to check out the new 5k iMac and saw one guy buying 3 Pencils. I got lucky when I asked if they had any more in stock.

11:30 Apple store in utc San Diego has at least a dozen of the pencils on the shelf. Smart covers are also available. I stayed there for about half an hour, and was the only one to buy the pencil.
Crap, I bought my iPad pro 128 lte at UTC yesterday, but they had no pencils. So close!

There is basically a trend here. I mentioned before some of the sales guys on the phone were mentioning how the pencils weren't even suppose to be released last week and they were shocked that they were even in stores. Then this week, you are starting to see more and more waves. It doesn't fix the horrible online system if this many pencils are being shipped to stores but I see a storm brewing Mr. Wayne.

Finally got one, but such an inconsistent experience searching near Seattle. Bought the iPad last Thursday in Bellevue square. No lack of availability for the iPad, but no pencils in stock of course. Since then, I've called each day, as I was told that was the best chance, and had to fight with the call center to get to someone in the store itself. I've been told the following from Bellevue, Southcenter, and U Village "We will get them in 4-5 weeks", "We have no idea what we will receive or when", "We get some in everyday around 2, just come in then", "We will not receive them until after the new year". Needless to say, the experience leaves something to be desired. In the end, called Bellevue again today, after stopping into south center, and them not having any. Bellevue said they had plenty of them, but I found it hard to believe, asked for them to hold one, which they said they couldn't do, and I should reserve it online..... Which wasn't an available option. Called them back as I was driving in, and spoke to someone who said it was absolutely no problem to reserve one. Made it to the store, and made it home with a Pencil. What a process though....

So far, I am loving it, and I've owned and or tried most tablets and convertible laptops with stylus options, including a Surface Pro that has been the leader for awhile.

On my way back to SFO today, called the Modesto, CA store - lo and behold, they had just gotten their shipment around 1:00pm. They wouldn't say how many they got, and the employees were all surprised when I walked in and asked for one, mentioning that the manager had told me they were in stock.

I'd called a few days in a row, and they'd gotten in a trickle, but unpredictable.

If anyone's tired of getting the call center, just tell the automated answering machine you want to speak with a manager at the store. It'll get you an actual person at the store, which, AFAIK is the only way to actually see the inventory.

I already got my pencil but how does one get in touch directly with the store? I always get a guy in a call center who then has to call the store to check stock.

Read what I wrote right above your post. ;)

Tell the automated answering service, you want to "speak with a manager at the store", it will connect you directly. No dude in a call center reading off a script telling you to "check stock online!"

So valley fair had some at noon but sold out, but then got some fresh stock in the evening? Makes me think they get shipments in afternoon and any that is available in the morning is leftover from night before. So best time to check is late evening before closing (?)

There's a massive inconsistency among stores AND employees about how they deal with situations like this when you can't order for in-store pickup. A very nice gentleman at the Bellevue store took my name last week and promised to call me if a Pencil or Smart Keyboard came in. Now, thanks to this thread, I zoomed over to the University Village store earlier today and got one there just before they sold out. However, I still got a call from the Bellevue store guy not one hour after getting home from the University Village store, telling me they have a Pencil available for me to come and pick up. I thanked him numerous times for keeping to his word and calling me, but declined another Pencil for obvious reasons. Awesome guy, though, for following through.

However, none of the other stores were willing to hold anything for me, and depending who you get even at the Bellevue store, they won't either.

The whole situation was rather maddening.

I wonder if the stores that got some in yesterday will get more in this morning. Do you guys think the shipments will come in waves or every day? Can't decide if I should be at the Boston area Apple Stores at 10AM tomorrow...

So looks like shipments happen all through the day, so even if its afterwork, pick a few stores and just make the call. Make sure you get connected directed to the store. The call center is pointless.

I gave up trying pick areas near me like los gatos, san jose...i decided to pick more inland places with less population and this strategy worked out.

Today has been one annoying today. I had one in Valley fair mall, CA - but I had a meeting that went over by 1 hour which caused me to miss the last pen then i had to drive back to go to another meeting. Then at 6:30pm, I took a leap of faith and found one. It didn't help that I drove 100 miles running on no sleep for 30 hours....

But it's mine now.....my precious.

I'm hoping they do. I live a few blocks away from the Boston store, and I plan to check it out today in the afternoon. I was going to wait until after they opened for a few hours to see if they got more shipments in.

If anyone can get one... I'm more than happy to pay double if you're willing to express ship to the UK for me ;)

Hellooo everyone and welcome to another day of Pencil hunting! I will be investigating Staples soon in case some show up in store based on the original 11/18 date. And will be calling / using the online chat (which does work!) to see if any central Florida Apple stores receive Pencils today. Might stop by one later, but FarEastOfTengai seems to have the closet stores to me in Tampa covered.

Of course I ended my day yesterday finding this on Craigslist (http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/ele/5320716124.html). There are only two Apple stores in Tampa (three if you count one in Sarasota 30-45 min south), and Tengai hit up at least one multiple times yesterday. I have to say it's very depressing to think that the other store may have sold one person 7 Pencils to scalp.

The only store in Texas as of now that has the pencil is the El Paso store..I'm hoping more shipments arrive later today.

I wanna cry

My Staples order was pushed back too
If anyone finds on of these in a Mass store this morning PLEASE DM or quote me immediately, I would really appreciate it.
