6+

A definite improvement over 8.2 and the best version of iOS8 by some margin.

The expanded space bar for web searches is awesome and not before time.
The spinning data wheel in Safari is finally banished.
Memory management seems ever so slightly better.
Select/copy fixed in Safari
6+ Safari landscape issues rectified
Battery life is the same for me as 8.2
No screen freezes or app crashes so far.
I've only experienced a little lag once or twice when scrolling down iMessage convos

The camera roll app is a tad slower to use. Commands take a fraction longer to execute than they did before.
Calendar reminders still seem buggy although this needs further testing.
Not happy that the emoticons send an alien alongside any non-yellow emojis to recipients who aren't on 8.3
The wallpaper is strangely darker than it was, despite the homescreen icons being as bright as ever.

*Edited to add that I've just had my first Safari 'there was a problem with the webpage so it reloaded' crash. That's after 10 hours of use and it happened on the MacRumors forum.

iOS 8.3 from 8.2 OTA

Device is solid. Good battery life, snappy performance.

Only bug I've found: when in safari app and home button is pressed, the transition is very choppy. It's the only app it happens with.

Same day of release I downloaded 8.3, I went to a doctor's appointment. The waiting room wifi was always terrible before. But with update, good connection and good performance. Battery maybe the same, yet using Periscope app just drains my battery anyway.

Joining the thread.... Too early to draw conclusions (installed 2 hours ago).

Lol OP did you actually expect people to follow a simple request on MacRumors?

iPhone 6 Plus
8.3 OTA from 8.3b4

Performance Impressions: Pretty much the same as 8.3b4. Quite a bit better than 8.2 though. Overall pretty happy that it finally (since 8.0) doesn't suck ass.

Stability: Pretty legit. There are still some bugs here and there but it's a nice big step in the right direction.

Battery Life: Comparable to the betas. Better than 8.2 again.

Coming from the beta I think it is difficult to see mayor improvements...
From 8.2 I could notice some differences.

Is there still hesitation sometimes when initially launching third party apps? I mean does the app animation instantly spring open or does it sometimes take a half second or so sometimes to react? This was my first observation when I first upgraded to the very first iOS 8. iOS 6 and 7 never had this issue. Everything responded instantly and fluidly. I'm holding out with my 8.1.2 jailbroke phone because I love having very short to little animations! But I'm just curious if this "improved app launch" performance is actually back up to par or not!

Its appeared with a vengeance on my Retina Mini...

I've given up hope with iOS 8... bring on iOS 9. My hope is that because of the lack of leaks about features that we usually have had at this time of the year, it means that it truly will be focused on speed and stability.

iPhone 6 Plus
8.3 via iTunes from 8.2

Performance Impressions: Not much different that I can see. Things work, perhaps a little smoother.

Stability: My apps work - no noticeable issues.

Battery Life: No abnormal battery drain.

I've yet to upgrade my iPad Air 1, can anyone report how responsive the OS feels with 8.3? Curious if I should lose my jailbreak for it.

Stuttering on the scrolling is app related. On apps just written (did not exist before 2015) scrolling is buttery smooth.

Check that one app from a new Spanish newspaper it's heavy on pictures but scrolling is as smooth as it gets.

App: vozpopuli

Makes me think that Apple should have rolled this thing differently by enforcing a deadline for app developers to have the stuff rewritten. Rewritting core apps like Music or iBooks would not habe hurt either.

This is gonna be a long transition i'm afraid as the new language roll out has been quite lousy imho.

No issues for me, I have a 5S with 8.3

Attached is my battery life usage from today. Bluetooth, location services, LTE and wifi on

Gets me through a day no problem. Many bugs gone from 8.2, no performance hiccups or anything. Smooth as butter.

Dude you used your iPhone 11hrs 15min continuously? :O :O :O
There's not even a min diff between Standby and Usage!!
Or there were some background activity or background audio continuously playing on your 5s?

Restored from iTunes as I was on the developer beta.

It's night and day when compared with iOS 8.2 and below. This is what iOS 8 should of been from the start. Fluid, fast and no crashes so far.

Hmm my iPhone says I'm now using 110GB of storage space and have 4.1 GB available.

That can't be right. On 8.2 I had about 40GB of free space and if I add up everything that shows under storage, I should still have about 40GB free.

Dunno what's going on here...

Also, I've noticed iTunes Radio will randomly pause, and it's been glitching like crazy. I just pressed play after it kept pausing itself and I watched it start flickering and the song kept skipping about 30 times without anything playing. I just closed down the music app and will try it later.

Has anyone else experienced this, or read about someone having the same issue with 8.3?

Surely I'm not the only one. :/

(Talking about the incorrect reporting of free storage space issue)

My 6+ is running MUCH much better than it did on any previous version of iOS8. Still not 'right' mind you and my battery has taken another slight hit. I'm not getting all that much more than I would expect to get on an iPhone 6. Sadly the days of 11 hours+ on 8.11 and previous are long gone.

All okay for me. The battery life took a hit in 8.2 which doesn't seem to be improved in 8.3 though.

My main annoyance though is that it keeps on defaulting back to the standard Apple keyboard! Super annoying.
